In response to Qrich's "Typically telling yourself something over and over solely for the sake of believing it more is a trait typically associated with denial and or delusion"
Maybe a better way to put it is this: If you have a friend, what would they think about you if you never talk to them? If a long period of time goes without contact, that person may no longer view you as closely. Likewise, if God is really our friend, won't we talk to him regularly, keeping in contact?
" . . . Because human beings are not omniscient, ergo there needs to be such a realization to begin with. Stop putting the Almighty on human terms you blasphemous vagabond"
Of course humans are not omniscient, and i really have no idea how that thought even came into your mind . . . Unless you mean that it is impossible for humans to tell when one another need help? In which case you are just wrong.
On me putting the almighty on human terms, God does that himself all throughout the bible, in order that we may actually understand him. If he were to use Godly terms, we would just be left dumbfounded, so that's why he explains the way he is in Human terms. A basic example is Daniel 7: 9,10 where the figurative appearance of God is described.
(look it up)
God is an invisible spirit creature with no physical body, so why would he describe himself as such? So that we could understand how glorious his presence is in human terms.
Additionally we are made in God's image in that we have the same personality traits as him. God is a person too. So it is fitting to compare in that regard.
"... What? You are f****ing insane."
You must not have understood what i was talking about. Later on I will try to make a post entitled 'Why God Allows Suffering' which should clear up that a little bit.
For people who don't believe in coincidences, listen to these words of Solomon, via God given wisdom. Ecclesiastes 9:11
People who devalue all of humanity's progress and science since they are too stupid to understand it themselves and proclaim that "we're all too neanderthalic to grasp the concept of creation on a galactic spectrum" me off

Most forums don't permit religious discussion because of the massive ****fest that always follows.
Philosophizing about this is just going to be brick walls posting their opinions; it's not going to make anyone question their beliefs.
There's two ways of looking at it; either you can be a critic and not believe in anything you can't prove, or you can be a believer in whatever religion suits you. There's no gray. And there needs to be gray for a discussion like this to properly occur.
There are a lot of agnostic people that can be swayed both ways if presented with a strong case.

Be it big bang or genesis there's something that we haven't figured out yet. Humanity - as a race- is too neanderthalic to grasp the concept of creation on a galactic spectrum, let alone discuss the possibility of a being that could.
Doesn't mean we shouldn't try getting the answer to such questions, which is what philosophy and this thread is about. It matters not whether there actually is an answer or if this is merely a dead end, what's most important is the fact that we still ask these sort of questions, which in my opinion is what makes us human.

This threads a heavily baited trap.

but then again Im all for religion since Im baptised or w/e u call it when you're a teen and remind urself of God, but I only did it since you get tons of presents and I got a trip to Italy with the churchclass
also the priests were super cool and didnt try and force belifs down our throats, they were like youth leaders.
There is no way we can absolutely confirm nor deny the existence of God when there's no evidence available which points to either option. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
