EM sure has fallen these past few years, things aren't the same as they were before; the player base has dropped, winning a trophy doesn't have the same hype, the forums aren't as lively, and many former active players are now inactive...
If this continues, EM could be dead within the next decade (5-10 years) or sooner, who knows. Yes, new players will come around and old players will continue to leave but it seems like we are still seeing a downward trend on the activity level of the community instead of an upward trend.
Most of EM's general population is between the ages of 13-18 so with the school season starting, Epicmafia's community will be hit hard and things will start to get worse. We have a cold winter stirring up ahead of us fellow mafioso's and it doesn't look like things are gonna get any better.
Discuss what caused EM to go downhill and what we as a community can to do to change, reform, and help EM flourish again like in the good old days.
With your brain power, we can heal the community together, one step at a time.
I'm not looking forward to the inpour of mobile-noobs that will veg or cause the game to be unplayable because playing and typing on a 5"x3" screen is completely ridiculous.

Main is the lobby for beginners
deleteddeletedalmost 12 years ago
Another lobby for beginners would be ideal but the site doesn't have enough growth to support it. You'd be adding a lobby that would be dead right from the start.

Watch it which that sort of thing is offensive to some people

Jesus Christ.

That's a great idea Colly but the admins would never try an innovative idea like that, unfortunately.
that is probably true but the fact that no one cares is what will lead to our downfall, come back to this thread 5-10 years from now and quote me if im wrong
I think perhaps the creation of another lobby to go alongside Main Lobby would help, maybe with some sort of points restriction to those who enter it. This would allow new players to learn the game without being hassled by frustrated experienced players
The average site doesn't last more than 10 years, the internet 10 years ago was a very different place. Assuming em started in 2008 we have already had 6 years and the fact that this isn't a major site we are lucky for how long we have had. Look at major sites people move on and move to different communities it's just something you have to accept.
ur right, 30 people signing a petition doesn't change anything but we could have lucid have people sign an agreement that they read the rules or watch a video on how to treat people properly in game before they're allowed to play, that should have an effect over time
i guess so but the question is will comp lobby ever be back?

well I guess by "you" I meant "the percentage of players who are to noobs"
Also, as for improving the community as a whole and trying to make everyone nicer, it just doesn't work like that. From a moderation standpoint we try to make the game as pleasant and free of harassment and hostility as possible, but we can't really do anything aside from encourage everyone. There have been group efforts for everyone to be a little nicer, but 30 people signing a petition out of the hundreds that play the game doesn't really make a difference.
Lucid's also working on improving the mobile site iirc, so that's something. It's quality of life improvements like that that I think will have people coming back, instead of makeshift temporary solutions like handing out tokens.
