speaking of knowing sports, heres a hot take: sure, clayton kershaw puts up amazing numbers during the regular season. but is he really the best pitcher in baseball? you know what his record in the playoffs is? 1-3. Sounds like a guy who can't win in big games to me. and has anyone noticed that "clayton" rhymes with "peyton"? really makes you think.
Well if you wanna value big game pitching, Jon Lester went 2-0 with a 0.59 ERA in the World Series last year against your St. Louis Cardinals Melody ;)

Yankees of hockey? Are you saying the red wings have a big payroll cuz that's all ''Yankees'' of anything means ;) The Yankees buy their championships--notice that now that they don't have the biggest payroll, they're not winning near so much. =)
Either way, the Red Wings are like the Yankees of Hockey. They always manage to find a way to be competitive. They're one of the best run organizations in sports, and definitely the best in the NHL.
Mike Medano is hot. I'll be impressed if u know who he is without googling it. I can't prove u did or didn't. So.
Mike Modano played with the Red Wings at the very end of his career, and was a STAR player on the Dallas STARS as well. But I only know him because he played when I cared about hockey over 10 years ago.....
All of my friends that are hockey fans are complaining about the Red Wings resigning some guy named Dan Cleary, and I don't even know who he is. He doesn't sound very good, else they wouldn't be mad about a player only getting a million dollar contract.
Dan Cleary is a 3rd or 4th line player, 1 million is kind of a lot for a hockey player in such a specialist role, especially if he's on the 4th line which means he's probably only on the ice for 10-12 minutes per game. If he's a penalty kill guy then it might be different. If he's simply a 4th line scrub for them and can't even make the PK unit then yeah 1 million is a lot to spend on him, considering most 4th line players make at least 250K less. Hockey salary caps are pretty tight, the bottom end guys need to be a better value imo.

I don't have the ability to watch NESN, as I live in Detroit.
Now I know that he is a boisterous idiot broadcaster who's almost as bad as Hawk Harrelson.
I don't really care about Hockey just that he's hot. Well done. He's from my town :) We've met a couple times and I work with his mom.
