Didn't see jackattack's message til he quoted it--just in case you thought I was ignoring it lol :#

Kershaw wasn't only bad pitching wise in that game. I watched it through and through. His -head- was messed up. He had no guts for that game, he looked like he could puke. He was too nervous for it. It'll take a lot for him to man up in big games, IMO
MeIodyabout 12 years ago
Love Bumgarner tbh.
MeIodyabout 12 years ago
Lester did amazing in playoffs and always has shown great pitching prowess. I was going to say a Red Sox pitcher would be my pick. My only suggestion to him would be: less pine tar in WS games please ;)

Will Cook stop sucking at cricket?
TheOnlyJazznation1about 12 years ago
Also Melody saying Kershaw is bad in big games is not a good statement. He got smacked around by the Cardinals last year yes. But the bats in the cards lineup usually do hit Kershaw well. Before that he played in 1 other playoff series since 09'. Keshaw is the best

Also Murray will win a Slam then fall off the map for 2 years. Djokovic should be able to sneak another 3 wins in the next 2 years. I truly hope he beats Nadal on clay. I truly hope.
TheOnlyJazznation1about 12 years ago
Then talking playoff pitching it begins and ends with the Giants staff. Lincecum still wins the big game, As does Cain and Bumgarner

i can't see murray beating djokivic on hard courts on a consistent basis, or even being competitive tbh
jackabout 12 years agoedited
He's only 27 and with Federer declining its possible
Edit: Fair point they're all roughly the same age
Zlakeabout 12 years ago
either way, murray, djokivic and nadal are really all a part of the same generation so none of them can really be the future.

Djokivic and Murray will be the "future" for the next 5 or so years after that I can't find a replacement as the next great yet
murray will not be the future

@Yeezus I'll also talk Tennis Djoker finally got off the snide and won another major grays to him. Serena is done in my eyes she can't seem to put together another streak like last years, which is a warning sign to me. Bouchard will be a beast in the coming years (And she won't blow up like Wozniacki.)
djokivic will take over for teh next few years in tennis and i wouldn't be surprised if he wins roland garros next year. nadal is finished imo. serena could still win but idrc. halep nd bouchard are the players of the future when it comes to womens tennis. in the current generation of mens players, there is no player of the future. if things stay this way, it'll be like the early 2000's where everybody was able to win a few.

We were talking about playoff-tier pitching, not season.
jackattack123
Well if you wanna value big game pitching, Jon Lester went 2-0 with a 0.59 ERA in the World Series last year against your St. Louis Cardinals Melody ;)
Your thoughts? :)
MeIodyabout 12 years ago
I don't think they were bashing da yanks, just critiquing them lol. :3
MeIodyabout 12 years ago
We aren't talking about that. Even I, a Cardinals fan, do not defend Wainwright. We are talking about pitchers who man up in the big games. Wainwright is iffy, Kershaw is awful in big games. We were talking about playoff-tier pitching, not season.
TheOnlyJazznation1about 12 years ago
^^^ There you go.
jackabout 12 years ago
If you want to know the best two pitchers in baseball just look at the pitching statistic leaders in the NL. Kershaw and Wainwright are 1 and 2

Jazz Knows Sports. WOW I'm really happy a sports forum.

Also best pitcher in baseball is Clayton Kershaw and its not even close. The guy had 41 and 1/2 scoreless innings. The guy is an animal and he's gonna throw a perfecto very soon. I can feel it.

Look you are bashing a Yankees team that has 1 of their starting rotation of the beginning of the season. I'm not saying the team is a championship team as constructed but being 1 over 500. at this point in the season is mildly successful without CC and Nova. This team also hasn't hit all season and have been dreadful with runners in scoring position. As a diehard fan that watches nearly all 162 this team isn't good enough to win a championship but they are by no means out of a tight AL East race. If they start to hit and the fill in's of Francis and McCarthy pitch decently well (Meaning sub 4 ERA) This team can be in the race till the end. Don't bash my Yanks.

Also @Melody, The Cardinals will be decently effected by the loss of Molina. They are losing the best catcher in the league hands down. However what Molina brings from a leadership side is much more important than even his bat and his defense. They are a playoff team but not a World Series team.

does anybody want to talk about tennis. a sport that requires far more skill than baseball
do u think federer will ever win another grand slam
if he plays teh way he played this wimbledon then yes. as long as he doesn't need to beat nadal to win. either way, he's clearly the GOAT so it doesn't really matter.
