i said i didn't like you in-game but what i really meant is i don't like being accused of thesaurus abuse by two presumably separate individuals or called stupid repeatedly, and i don't know have any confirmation of whose alt you are.
in that situation, yes, i should have unvoted first. I was not voting him, though, and there are some situations where voting a blue whilst retracting would have been fine; given that I wasn't keeping up with the situation, I was not thinking to unvote, just trying to react. I'm pretty stupid when it comes to processing speed.
Matt was probably messing around more than trying to play optimally, but I can't speak for him.
right, and I didn't expect town to keep speedwagoning him, nor did I really notice how close he was to being lynched at the time I retracted. As I mentioned before, I was not voting my CC when I retracted, I was voting someone else.
I could have unvoted first if I had been faster but from my pov at the time, it was just a matter of whether or not to retract, not a matter of, "he's going to be lynched even if I retract so I'd better make sure I'm not voting someone."

Off memory, here's how that game went:
Cop was uncced, having scumtold immensely already by that point. I was voting nilla and hoping the afk cced cop, but they didn't, so doctor claimed oracle in an attempt to roleswap. I cced them, not unvoting the person I had previously been voting, then they didn't retract so I retracted (they were town), but at that point town voted them anyway. The third mafia speedhammered it AFTER I retracted. Then on d2 you failed to lynch
a) the uncced cop that lived over an oracle claim w/ dead doc visibly in GY,
b) the nilla that I had been voting all d1 and didn't unvote in time when doc got speedwagoned,
c) the person who speedhammered doc without saying anything and confirmed themselves,
thus, the game ended, a perfect scum win despite 2 maf being almost confirmed.
