There is absolutely nothing competitive about seeing Frontier Justice, CBA and this setup is bad being played on repeat every 3 rounds.
If you truly want to test the 'best' players on EM and reward them, they shouldn't be presented with the same setups every time. Competitive setups should break meta, force people to think differently and apply new strategies.
The setups mentioned above are great, but users are too accustomed to seeing a sheriff/cop combo and know what strategies to enforce because of this.
I propose we make a few changes:
Increase the number of rounds that a setup can't be played for from 3 to something between 7-10. This will force popular setups to be less frequent.
Remove the 200 play minimum when choosing new setups. It's very simple to recognize when a setup won't be playable or balanced for competitions. There are some fantastic setups not being played due to not having the chance to be featured, so this loop of 'popular' setups will never break unless we inject more options.
As someone who has actively played EM for 9 years now, it frustrates me that we only see the same setups week after week. I have seen many great, competition worthy setups over the years that aren't being given a chance due to the current system.
I have no idea how the petition feature works, but hopefully if you agree with the above you can sign it! :)
P.S. I actually proposed the other trophy winners don't choose any setups at all but it was a bit too late. I chose a fantastic setup from 2009 that was hugely popular back in the day and Moar Gun for VanityPrime because he's of the same mindset as me. The latter setup requires a new way of thinking and was created with this in mind.
