I've always maintained that it is the town's responsibility to avoid lynching the fool (and most certainly not the fool's responsibility). To hold the fool to any level of behavioral standard is an ill-founded expectation. A more appropriate commandment would be: Do not follow blindly the eager claims of a virgin into the valley of death.
You are not responsible for taking note of the host. There is no such thing as a host kill; all players are created equal once the game begins. Hosting a game does not make one special. Players who mention the term "host kill" in a game are the followers of a false god.
