B-b-but slurs systematically OPPRESS entire races,,,, harassing a specific person with specifically hateful lines (sometimes paragraphs) can NEVER be as bad as using a certain word in any context!

That's fair the jovial n word was the most important part.
I have yet to year "the ch word" or "the n word" or any of the variety of insults as an actual racial slur used to demean a certain race but I consistently see (unfunny, but not the point)'jokes' on- east Asians (HERRO SO FUNNY CANT DRIVE XD), Indians (HEHEE BOBS AND VEGANA UR KIND LIVES IN A CALL CENTRE CREEP LOL) and so many more lol
try working on these next if you guys really wanna eliminate racism in society
How..? Harassment is a direct attack on an individual. Racial slurs are an indirect attack on a group of people. Groups of people can cope more easily than a single person alone.
Harassment hits far harder than racial slurs (literally no comparison), because in the end a slur is a word used to attack someone, and harassment is a barrage of words AND actions used to emotionally attack someone.
If you're saying that xenophobia or inciting hatred is worse than harassment then maybe.... But a racial slur on its own is nowhere near as harmful as actual harassment.

it's also comedic that the mod team say they will have zero tolerance for slurs but the first punishment is a warning
if the rule is expanded to include general slurs in reference to my above post, why didn't you just keep the original hateful comments rule in place? there was nothing wrong with it you just want to seem like you're helping more than you are
this is pretty poorly thought out it's like saying that racial insults are objectively more hurtful than homophobic insults or anything in that other vein
why does the mod team think homophobia is less serious than racism
of course you'd get a vio, what isn't malicious about this? we have all types of people on this website. the term "players" is inclusive to people in general.
It's half arsed. It says "malicious" use, which means people can get away with saying slurs if they're not actively throwing them at a player.
e.g. I could say "Ally is a [slur]" and get a vio for that, but according to this rule I wouldn't get a vio for "I hate [slur]s", even if it applied to Ally, because I haven't named anyone.
The previous HC rule was fine in that anything related to ableism, homophobia, transphobia, racism, or sexism was covered and discretion was given to mods.
The issue is with the harassment rule, where you can say anything you like, no matter how offensive, and you won't be punished because the harassment rule explicitly says "repeated attacks" which means that no one gets a vio as long as they stop when asked to.
That's how users manage to get away with repeated toxic behaviour. Even if they get a note for harassment - which they shouldn't, because Harassment 1st is a warning - it expires and often isn't taken into account.
The only positive change to the harassment rule lately is the increase in note duration, and that was done for different reasons and happened to be a happy side effect.
tldr; stop messing with a perfectly good HC rule and fix the god damn harassment policy on this site.
