Hello everyone! I would like to ask the people who are interested in this event to participate and contribute as much as possible.

In order for 2 new roles to be added to em, the community has to work together to refine the ideas that are going to be mentioned below. We have to collectively select 2 of the best ideas and make sure their version is the best one possible. The next step would be to come up with some sort of artwork for the selected roles. Lucid mentioned something about rewarding the users behind the artwork that would get selected in the end for those 2 roles.

Jack the Ripper (originally Hypocrite)

  • Jack the Ripper hates anyone who kills.
  • Jack the Ripper only wins when the game ends and all murderers are dead.
  • If Jack the Ripper receives a gun or knife and kills someone with it, he will not consider himself a murderer.
  • To Jack the Ripper, murderers are killing roles or any other player that has successfully eliminated someone else (shot, stabbed, blown up, etc.)
  • If a player survives one of these actions, Jack the Ripper will not consider the attacker a murderer. (~Jennings)

Cat Lady

  • Chooses one player every night. The player is instantly alerted that a cat is at their door. They have two options: Kill the cat, and let it go. If you kill the cat, you are roleblocked and the Cat Lady doesn't know who was visited. If you let it go, the Cat Lady learns your role.
  • Sided with the mafia. (~Her)

Robinhood

  • Visits two people, taking all items from the first and giving them to the second (cannot visit self either way)
  • Action fails if trying to steal from a mafia
  • Sided with the village (~Torreador)

Vice President

  • If the president dies, takes their place
  • All townies immediately receive a message of their new president
  • Attends mafia meetings, and makes them anonymous
  • Cannot win if they are the vice president (~Alyssa)

Gossiper

  • Chooses one person every night.
  • Will see some whispers this person receives/makes.
  • Gossiper's action does not count as a visit.
  • Sided with the mafia. (~Soluciones)

(revising) the Seer

  • Knows all mafia from the beginning of the game.
  • If lynched at the end of the game, the last mafia can guess who the Seer is for autowin.
  • If the Seer dies, they will appear as a random (non-mafia) role in the setup and their will will always be blank. If dead, the mafia can still attempt a guess to the Seer's identity at the end of the game.
  • If there are multiple Seers in a game, only one Seer will know the mafia at any given time.
  • If there are two mafias and multiple Seers, the knowledge of the mafias will be split between them.
  • Sided with the village. (~Shwartz99)

Whistleblower

  • Once per game can force someone to vote someone else. Vote cannot be OT'D if it is a hammer. Sided with maf (Will create more tension in selfing/hammering based setups (~Moldyches)

Soldier

  • If they are the last man standing against a single mafia or third party, the village wins.
  • Sided with the village. (~XFire)

PowerTown

  • Each night chooses a power role from the options provided to him. (the mods should determine the list)
  • Night meeting goes accordingly
  • Sided with the village

PowerMafia

  • Each night chooses a mafia role from the list.
  • Night meeting goes accordingly
  • Sided with the mafia

- Is able to accept/decline the Bride's proposal to any user once per game.
- Does not attend mafia meetings.
- Sided with mafia.

Gunslinger

- Steals gun whenever shot at.
- Can shoot through bulletproof vests

I can't decide if the above role would be Town or Mafia.

Gravekeeper

-Maf, meeting
-When people die, they show up as other (random) role in game instead (there's a chance they keep their role)
-Get a message to see that dead people real role

Mourner

-Town side
-Can only use the below ability after there are 3 or more dead people
-Only once per game, during the day, send an answer of "YES" or "NO" to the dead. After 30 seconds, the deaths will vote and choose the answer.
- Of course, you use chat to type the question. The majority vote will be the final answer. 50/50 will result in random


Mourner is super awesome, will build that after Medium. I like the idea of Ghost as well. Perhaps there could be another role to prevent haunt kills

Friendly Cop
Sides with the town.
Appears to themself and upon death as a normal Cop.
The Friendly Cop visits one person every night and receives a report with the alignment of that person, but unlike an ordinary Cop, they also roleblock that person for the night.

Betting Man:
- Third Party
- Each night picks a player and bets on blue (they're town), black (they're maf) or green (they're third party).
- Earns 1 point for correct blue bet, 2 for correct black, 3 for correct green.
- If they are wrong, they lose that many points.
- Wins if they earn 10 points total.

The values are up for debate but I really like this one.

1. Choose dead gunsmith to give you or your partner a gun
2. Choose dead vig to kill a town
3. Choose dead yak to yak a town
4. Choose dead stalker to learn some people's roles
5. Choose dead lover for meme

Mourner simple questions:

1. Is player A mafia?
2. Is player A guised?
3. Is player A telling the truth?

The question and the answers will be shown to all alive players as system message though. This makes people believe the Mourner

May be allow Mourner to use his ability once a day to make him as powerful as a cop?

Well, it's kinda reversed Snowman, because it works in contrary times, but if it's too similar, it can change to rb the person who drunks someone at the night as well.

It's also important they both cannot kill and do not know partners, so thief can't work.

That's the function silencer is used for in setups with silencer, except being silenced is a REALLY annoying mechanic. This role would merely be the already present fiddler and silencer , except without actually fiddling or silencing.

It's been banned for ages because it takes players out of the game and is no fun. I remember someone arguing to unban it when I was modding, but there wasn't any support

It would replace fiddler and silencer in setups with those without being imbalanced.


If its night time actions do nothing, then what's the point of it being in a different meeting?

@Lucid, working with the idea that Ethereal has suggested, how about a mafia role named Recruit or Initiate. They have a different meeting to the mafia, and can visit two people at night. The visit does nothing if they visit town, but if they visit mafia they get a message saying "You have found your partner" or something. When they have found all their mafia partners, they join the next mafia night meeting.

Example: I visit Lucid and Ethereal night one, Ethereal is mafia, Lucid is not. I get a message on day one saying "You have found out Ethereal is your partner/comrade/the mafia!" On night two I visit Ever and yela and I get a message on day two saying "You have found out yela is your partner/comrade/the mafia!" There's only 3 mafia in this setup, so on night three I'm in the mafia meeting and can kill.

If the other two mafia die before I find them, mafia loses. If I find the two mafia the night before they're lynched, I go into the meeting alone and game continues.


Hey I'm Ethereal. The point is to be caught on watcher reports or tracker reports and pretend to be a PR. It also cannot kill at night which is the point of it being a seperate meeting.
