Do all pedophiles deserve death?

Children are seen as the epitome of innocence which is why we get so upset at the thought of harm ever coming to them.

Pedophiles are seen as potential dangers to children, which is why they are seen as one of the most disgusting and hated people on the planet.

But I believe there is a fine line between active predators, and people who realize this is a sick mental disorder and seek help for it.

I think it's too late for offending pedophiles, but I believe we should treat pedophilia in general as a mental disorder.

no probably not, but i think the majority of individuals afflicted to the point of needing that outlet for their irrational or deviant behavior will suffice to be accepted by society insofar as they are permitted to enjoy and indulge in that behavior, without being labelled a pariah, through a simulation society invites and encourages them to use in lieu of breaking the law and becoming a pariah/deviant

actually, to go off of what i just said, epicmafia is a great outlet for people's natural tendency to be self-interested and intentionally deceitful in pursuing that self-interest.

now, we could argue that in mafia's case, it can actually enable a player to become more deceitful irl.

that much is certainly true. but it is also an outlet for deceit in general, and in that way a coping mechanism for social behavior stymied by societal norms.

i think it's the context that's important.

i believe, in the same fashion, we can say videogames actually allow violent people to have an outlet for their animalistic rage, rather than take it out in real life on real people.

i think it works the same for the sicker fetishes - let's narrow it to r@pe and pedophilia, which is oftentimes synonymous and the epitome of r@pe.

i think it's about these people having a fantasy of complete control over another person, perhaps that they've never had.

so simulations, again, help nourish their troubled soul with an outlet for these insane and detrimental behaviors in a society.

because, tbh, the emotions never go away when ignored or bottled up - they just get channeled to other disturbing behavior.

we are all animals, after all. we need to humble ourselves and allow humans the chance to be animals - in private, safely, and without a negative effect on anyone but themselves. i think that's a fair solution

We end it by putting in funding and finding a cure. Until that happens, yes it's better for society if people like that can let out their urges in a harmless way instead of harming others. My personal opinion is that the death penalty should only be used toward those who commit any form of terrorism that injures or kills a large amount of people.

Otherwise, I think people should be sent to rot for major crimes.

Usually pedophiles sent to jail are taken care of by other inmates. They carry out their own form of justice.

I still don't like the fact that they die, but if pedophiles are going to be killed, it's probably best by someone already with a history of violence and wrongdoing.


Before I get a classic "But MisterPresident, how will there be enough space for everyone on death row in already overcrowded prisons?", the answer is not building more facilities.

Simply decriminalize marijuana use and purchases. That alone will allow tons of space for new, actually deserving inmates.

Most (or all) drugs were treated as criminal originally because of racist intentions. I.e. Mexicans were targeted in communities. They used a lot of marijuana. Best way to get rid of them? Send them to jail for something. How about smoking weed?

Same goes for Chinese and opiates, crack cocaine (literally not different from powder except that black/poor people used it) targeted blacks, etc.

Conservatives (and some liberals, in order to gain votes) have to remain "tough on drugs" and not "smart on drugs" to be elected.

It's a broken system all together.
