maybe i'll think differently if i become a father one day, but for now i think my perspective is okay
the medical community and society at large simply isn't equipped to treating and helping and supporting pedophiles. that's why attitudes towards the disorder need to change, emotional thinking needs to go out the window and these people need to be treated like, you know, actual human beings. i don't even think the patient confidentiality code exists for them.

Why do people with a pedophilic disposition have that disposition? When people with that disposition act on their desires, why? Are these people predominantly pedophilic? Can these people also engage in healthy, legal sexual and romantic relationships?
in some docos and in a lot of psychological textbooks / clinical psych stuff, you find a lot of "open" pedophiles have loving, structured and healthy family and sexual lives with legal consenting partners, they just admit that at one point of another, they have had pedophilic urges.
There's also the point that a lot of child abusers aren't pedophiles, and visa versa, in the same way that a homosexual can be closeted and engage in heterosexual intercourse or a pansexual can also be an incel
it's a curious, complicated subject that lends itself too heavily to public displays of anger and virulence towards those suffering that actually engaging in conversation is difficult enough as it is, let alone on an online video game message board
sexuality in general is always a complicated topic when you get into the thick of it, and i don't see how pedophilia is any different desu
