A rule being bent by a mod does not sound like a sustainable system. If a mod has to bend a rule to stop damages then it means the rules need changing.
Moreover, we already have a provision in community vios where it says multiple vios can be given based on severity or something similar, Which can be used to suspend people if they do not stop.
Like we have banned users and forced them to log out without vios in case they are hacking. For example when a mod went rogue and started deleting accounts. We banned them without vios. It is not very hard to define scenarios. This also surfaces the need for a second admin who is active.
In this case the mods cited laziness as the reason for bending the rule and not unavailability of rule.
And the problem is that it has become a norm already. Which is not good.

And Zhuorb is right. Certain punishments can be used to minimise damage where we don't necessarily think it's being controlled enough by the application of violations. There are certain scenarios where the rules can be bent but I certainly agree that it shouldn't be the norm.
That doesn't mean i cant make my point. This has been done multiple times recently and it still goes on. So it means it is not handled yet. And therefore i made a new point. Why are you guys so gung ho on shutting up people from making their point. Your attitude is absolutely terrible and a very bad quality for a mod. Always assuming that people are putting you down and complaining and always trying to shut up people if they complain or point out your stupidity.
What is the point of having rules and violations if we can abuse the mod.key to do an irreversible forum suspension. And a lack of punishment to mods who keep doing this encourages more mods to do this and it becomes a norm instead of a breach.
yeah, but this is where mod discretion comes in. If he was being particularly hateful in one post, he gets the violation/warning. If he's continuosly doing it over several posts and shows no signs of stopping, it's a forum suspension to minimize the damage. Either way, the user gets a violation.
yeah he's an idiot for doing it over and over, nothing wrong with the forum suspension. I just wanted to appreciate that some users have their sense of humour intact

ok no fishswim deserved his 24 hours. He kept posting and posting. I was mobile when i suspended him and i was too lazy to report and vio ngl but even if i wasnt it was deleted by the time i suspended him.
