In Grid Poker, the goal is to score as many points as possible on the 5x5 grid by making valid poker hands, either vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
A valid poker hand is comprised of 5 cards, and can be one of the following combinations:
Pair: Two cards have the same number - 2 points Two pairs: Self explanatory - 5 points 3 of a kind: 3 of the 5 cards are the same number - 10 points Straight: All 5 cards follow each other numerically - 15 points Flush: All 5 cards are of the same suit - 20 points Full House: A 3-of-a-kind plus a pair to accompany it - 25 points 4 of a kind: 4 of the 5 cards are the same number - 50 points Straight Flush: A straight and a flush combined - 80 points
Whoever scores the most points will win.
GAMEPLAY
You can either do your round alone or with a partner.
ALONE
When you are ready, message a host in your Diary Room to begin forming your poker grid. Using a deck of 52 cards, you will draw 1 card and can either place that card on the grid, or discard it if you don’t like it. Once a card is placed on the grid, it cannot be moved, and you are allowed a maximum of 10 discards.
You will keep doing this until your grid is filled.
WITH A PARTNER
When you and your partner are ready, both need to message in your Diary Rooms and we will create a group chat with you both. The 52 card deck will be split in 2, one part for each of you. You each have your separate grid, and will take turns drawing a card. Like in single player, you either place that card on your grid or you can discard it. However, when you discard, it goes into the bottom of your partner’s drawing pile. Once a card is placed on the grid, it cannot be moved, and you are allowed a maximum of 8 discards each. Finally, since you are in the same room, you can see each other’s grid. You have until 9:00 PM EST Tuesday to complete the HOH Competition.

Sam: ...there were a lot more important considerations than this theme song but this was probably the tipping point. I feel duty bound to use this POV although in the future I will be more careful what I promise to who and when. I am not sure what's going to happen next, so good luck to all!

This pov competition will continue to warp your reality, however this time, it will be your own mind playing tricks on you. Can you distinguish between what is real and what is not? Welcome to your fourth Power of Veto competition! This week you will be playing Simon Says.
PoV Players: Julia, Luke, Kori, Matt, Sam, Ryan.
To begin this challenge, you will first ask a host to play in your Diary Room whenever you’re ready. During the challenge, you will be given a series of commands. Some of them will be prefaced with “Simon says”, and some of them will not. You must only follow the command if Simon asks you to follow it. Take note that some orders may carry out throughout multiple tasks, which will be obvious to you if that becomes the case. As soon as you mess up, the challenge will end. You mess up by either incorrectly following his order, flat out disobeying his order or following an order that wasn’t prefaced by Simon says. Finally, your answers to the tasks will not be publicized.
An example of a task is “Simon Says to give me your EM username.” If Emile was playing, he would reply with “HighSpace”. Capitalization and spelling does not matter, as long as we can make out what you were trying to type.
The player who makes it the furthest will win the Power of Veto. In the event of a tie, we will tally the amount of time it took you to follow each command, and whoever was faster will win.
You must begin this challenge before 8PM EST tomorrow. Once you’ve completed it, you are not allowed to talk about the challenge AT ALL to the other houseguests, or give advice.
