Since dooze cracked down on the minigames playable in Sandbox Lobby, I have thought of a (highly) original idea to cycle minigames around.
As of right now, the games that can be played are:
Ghost
Tiramisu
Jotto
Draw It!
Dice Wars
Battle Snakes
Cheat
Acrotopia
One of those is a 2 player game (Jotto), and one of them can be 2 player games but usually won't be played that way (Battle Snakes). There are eight games in total, not including mafia.
If we decide to cycle Jotto, we would then have 7 permanent minigames. Because we don't want to take over Games Lobby, I'd suggest we keep the total number of minigames here at a maximum of 10. So, we would be cycling at maximum 3 (or 2 if Jotto is permanent) of the below games.
Connect Four
Checkers
Liar's Dice
Crazy Eights
Ratscrew
Reversi
Concentration
Hearts
Texas Hold'em
Sink!
Chinese Checkers
Go
Battlegrounds
Chess
Mancala
Dots and Boxes
Boggle
Crack the Code
Stack it!
Hex
Jotto [Optional]
I'd also suggest that we follow an order for the cycling, which I believe the list above would suffice (I also made a suggested cycle list below which has a more balanced cycling). The first three will be allowed during the first cycle, and so on.
But of course, that also brings up timing, which I am disputed on. If we're all being honest here, daily cycling won't work. So, either weekly, biweekly, or monthly sounds like a good cycle time to me. In any case, I made a nifty little poll on the side, so make sure to vote to let your voice be heard.
Dooze, if you think this idea won't be too taxing on your own priorities, please give it a thought. Thank you.
Suggested Cycle (with cycling Jotto):
Cycle 1 - Connect Four - Checkers - Reversi
Cycle 2 - Crazy Eights - Ratscrew - Liar's Dice
Cycle 3 - Mancala - Concentration - Texas Hold'em
Cycle 4 - Sink! - Chinese Checkers - Go
Cycle 5 - Battlegrounds - Chess - Hearts
Cycle 6 - Stack it! - Boggle - Crack the Code
Cycle 7 - Dots and Boxes - Hex - Jotto
Suggested Cycle (without cycling Jotto):
Cycle 1 - Connect Four - Checkers
Cycle 2 - Go - Ratscrew
Cycle 3 - Mancala - Concentration
Cycle 4 - Sink! - Chinese Checkers
Cycle 5 - Battlegrounds - Chess
Cycle 6 - Stack it! - Boggle
Cycle 7 - Dots and Boxes - Hex
Cycle 8 - Reversi - Crack the Code
Cycle 9 - Hearts - Crazy Eights
Cycle 10 - Texas Hold'em - Liar's Dice
tl;dr: The lobby should allow certain minigames which change within a certain timeframe
i think this is really well thought out but i dont think people's preference of what minigame to play will change based on what cycle it is most users only play a few minigames (the popular ones like draw it, snake, ghost) so cycling minigames probably won't have the intended effect if people can just go into games lobby and play the specific minigame they have in mind that said is it really even necessary to have games in sandbox? games lobby isn't completely dead people still definitely do go there to play games with friends and its really not hard to message a few people and ask them to join your game in games lobby i think it's definitely more organized to separate lobbies by game type
That being said you can be sure as hell that more people will be playing mancala or chess over ratscrew, so you'd have to balance it so there's never 3 unpopular 2 player games at the same time, to go along with the idea
I was actually thinking about that, I'll create some cycles of games right now

It's a nice idea but I don't understand why there's an issue if certain games are here, certainly if spamming isn't an actual issue and were just some light critiques really
If games lobby has to depend on sandbox users going over there to be a community for them then it deserves to die lol
if it's awkward for dooze to do this but it's something she's interested in it's within my powers to change what minigames are and aren't enabled for the lobby so i can help
