So there's been a lot of shooting recently and the president isnt doing about it.

Australia had its worst mass shooting in 1996 on the 28th of April. 12 days later australia announced a bipartisan deal on sweeping gun control measures. The government brought back and destroyed over a million guns. We (australia) haven't had a mass shooting since.

Why is Trump not doing anything. Children are dying. People aren't living their full lives. If comforting those who have been through trauma and lost loved ones is all they can do b*llfucking sh*t. If saying it will be okay to those victims then saying that to gun owners should be fine too.

Sorry im just annoyed with how this has all been going down.

Should gun control be changed?

devante, the entire point is about the priorities of the fbi. of course they have a lot of work and counter-terrorism isn't easy, but the issue is that they use the resources they do have for questionable sting-operations/not trying to get help to the people who actually need it

the focus and the goal of the fbi is all wrong, and that's why they are complicit.

also of course the government is at fault too

"Informant-led sting operations are central to the FBI’s counterterrorism program. Of 508 defendants prosecuted in federal terrorism-related cases in the decade after 9/11, 243 were involved with an FBI informant, while 158 were the targets of sting operations. "

the fbi should have gotten the kid who openly wanted to kill people actual mental help or support, this was someone that was openly on their radar.

of course there's a lack of resources/messed up priorities, but it doesn't mean that the fbi isn't failing

P1

Although the commenter's username was "Nikolas Cruz" — the same name as the 19-year-old man who authorities say killed 17 people at his former high school on Wednesday — the FBI couldn't identify the poster, Robert Lasky, the special agent in charge of the FBI office in Miami, said Thursday.

Federal agents interviewed the man who reported the comment and searched public records databases, actions in line with those done during an FBI assessment — the lowest level, least intrusive and most elementary stage of an FBI inquiry — but came up short. The FBI says it still hasn't conclusively linked the account to the alleged shooter.

POINT 2

FBI assessments are routinely opened after agents receive a tip, which could be sparked by something as simple as noticing odd activity in a neighbor's garage or a classmate's comments. Agents routinely face a challenge of sifting through which of the tens of thousands of tips received every year — and more than 10,000 assessments that are opened — could yield a viable threat.

Maybe your government should invest more money in homegrown terrorism rather than sending drone strikes abroad and creating Isis ?? Idk dude

this is exactly what they should do

Like when my waitress tells me that I have to pay a gratuity fee at the bar I don’t yell at her, I understand that she’s just following what she’s been told to do by those above her.

All y’all are doing is conflating two issues , I don’t disagree about systemic racism, obvious profiling. The agent actually said in the above post, had he pledged Allegiance to isis they would have grounds to pursue him further:

Maybe your government should invest more money in homegrown terrorism rather than sending drone strikes abroad and creating Isis ?? Idk dude

I wholeheartedly disagree , do you understand how small the FBI is in comparison to the size of your country ?

There are 300 million guns and people, the FBI cannot our round he clock surveillance on one adolescence, or just doesn’t make sense.

How many FBI agents do you think there are Dude ?

Here’s an excerpt from a website , I’ll leave the link and you can read the rest. You want.

In regards to this shooting :

“Many assessments are closed within days or weeks when the FBI concludes there's no criminal or national security threat, or basis for continued scrutiny. The system is meant to ensure that a person who has not broken the law does not remain under perpetual scrutiny on a mere hunch —- and that the FBI can reserve its scarce resources for true threats.

Had he had pledged his allegiance to the Islamic state, for example, investigators might have had enough evidence to proceed with a more intrusive probe. “

Oh dude, totally .

Congress, the senate, every mayor . The current president, even Obama. They are all responsible .

The FBI and sheriff? No

yes, but the fbi could have done more even without the ability to restrict his access to guns

Sure, in hindsight . But let’s think realistically .

Google : fbi surveillance specialist salary

Now, think of all the agents that would be assigned to these cases, alll the money needed to put constant surveillance on this edgy 17 year old.

Now, think how many other edgy 17 year olds similar to this one guy, and do you think the FBI has the manpower or the budget for every single 17 year old edgy potential school shooter

it should be a priority of the fbi to prevent mass shootings, and that includes helping and closely keeping check on someone who literally said he wanted to kill people

i get that people are going to naturally slip through the cracks, but so many have slipped through that it is unjustifiable
