I haven't seen this discussed in-depth for a while, so I thought I'd make a thread now.
What does everyone, both new users and old, think about where the site is now, the direction its taken over the time you've been here, and the direction it's taking now?
What do you think of the community and how it's changed? What do you think of Sandbox lobby itself, or any of the other lobbies for that matter? What do you think of the moderation of the website?
What about the game of Mafia? Does it still have replayability factor for you? Is it functional? Do you still come back for the website because of it or do you do it for something else?
i think it'd be more enjoyable if the setups weren't all the same with a few roles interchanged but only playing 7/3/2 setups is just a part of sandbox now and is unlikely to change

like it's pretty evident from when abc or cory were banned that it doesn't at all stop them breaking the rules or doing similar things on different accounts
because either the same people can just create accounts again or their places will be filled with others, it's just not a long term solution to the problem

also, starting passive aggressive fights with other users on a thread about epicmafia as a website is even more evident of how hypocritical and pointless your complaining is. log out

to elaborate, you all really need to stop complaining about epicmafia if youre still actively using it. the community is close knit and theres nothing particularly awful about the way things are on it. the more you complain about it the more you make it obvious that you yourself are either just pretentious and have an existential void you need to fill, or you straight up have an epicmafia addiction. shut up
The site is so incredibly toxic and the users that spend their days bullying and harassing other users in the lobby contribute to that toxicity.
This is why the Holy Church of Jamal is looking to eradicate bullying and toxicity in the lobby so that the general consensus of how the lobby is and how the community is can improve.
Besides the satanic cult masquerading as a church that runs around wild, I really do love this community. I doubt I'd find sandbox fun if it wasn't for you guys. (you know who you are!) 10/10 would continue playing for the people, 2/10 would continue playing for the actual sandbox games.
There are two reasons to keep coming back into epicmafia, the community(for positive or negative reasons), and the game. Obviously at least one of the two is a big enough of a draw that explains why we’re still here
My take is people like to be negative, but on the whole the community does more good than bad, when it comes to creativity and building a stronger community(certainly with such a mix of people from all backgrounds), a community that hasn’t stayed stagnant over the years but constantly changing and creating new ideas and discussions and friendships.
There may be highs and lows but EM is still drawing people into playing it daily and as long as that keeps happening the site has value, value that is easily discarded by users who always promote the negative.
Regardless, as long as that value exists, so does the potential for the site to become something better; and that burden falls onto both lucid and us as a community. So I in the most cheesy form possible ask to you, the reader, what have you done for the community? And what can you still do to improve it? Change starts with an individual, and success is seen through their hard work.
