Hello Sandbox!

Posting here isn't something that I often do, but I have noticed people here are a lil more artistically inclined than the other lobbies, and are also more engaging and fun to talk to so I've decided to make this thread here.

At any rate, this is a long-term project created by someone who obsessed with film! It's Basil's Film Journal

Basically I'm going to list the films that I want to watch and organize them, and might post a hot take or two about movies I have recently seen. I hope to have written my first script by the end of college!

seeing as the year is coming to an end, and I still haven’t seen a chunk of 2017 movies (most notably phantom thread, I Tonya, Blade runner, call me by your name)

Here is what my current list looks like

2. Logan
3. Lady Bird
4. Baby Driver
5. Florida Project
6. Coco
7. Dunkirk
8. Wind River
9. Get Out
10. Good Time
11. Mudbound
12. The Disaster Artist
13. It
14. Star Wars

Movies I also saw and wasn’t that crazy about: Logan Lucky, Wonder Woman, beauty and the beast, the big sick, and that shítshow Rings which I really should not have seen

I am currently moving and can't go into detail but I hated this movie so much I had to go on a friend's podcast and complain about it for an hour, and I'm nothing resembling a star wars fan

Probably the 4th worst movie I saw in 2017

there’s only one reason to really hate this movie, and that’s the shítty Finn arc that involves a character whose characterization on the script was probably “bland environmentalist college student”

actually that whole thing ruins the movie’s pacing

also Benicia del toro is one of my favorite actors ever and seeing him completely phone this part in with a really annoying roger rabbit stutter was annoying

otherwise this movie’s risks all paid off i’d say, and people that are mad about how unique of a Star Wars film this one is are dumb. it’s really just an uneven movie

ALSO holy shít some of the shots in this movie were phenomenal and it’s definitely the best well-shot Star Wars movie... cinematography, man
