It seems this game has gained a lot of popularity in this lobby, and I want to see what it's like as the host.
All 3 of the games played thus far have ended in evil being victorious. So as per the idea of HighSpace, I will incorporate an extra servant to the game making it 7 good, 4 evil.
This will decrease the chances of placing evil members on missions and increase the Merlin pool for Assassin to shoot in.
6 players are needed to accept or reject any mission
I put in two different propositions for the third mission, and the one that PoD would take will let me know with quasi-certainty what alignment he was.
The first suggestion is the one PoD would take as Merlin: I told him to remove qrs + jeff from the mission, so that he could create an all town mission. So yes, my SR on QRS and Jeff were complete BS at that point. I just needed to give PoD a platform to remove at least one of them from the team. The roleswap is successful, what else would he need to hide from the assassin? Surely he sees that I have him covered with the assassination. I’m taking the hit.
The second suggestion is the one PoD would take as scum: I ask to replace me with a townread, as a mechanism to clear myself. I know for a fact Merlin PoD wouldn’t listen to this, just trust me on that. However, scum PoD would be glad to get a second mission failed without really helping the town figure out what’s going on. Adding Bryce of all people should suggest this move as a reality.
Maybe I should have claimed at that exact instant, before mission 3 went underway. But I felt like I just needed to see Qrs + Jeff’s reactions (looking for town reaction here) to another fail to be 100%. Once I saw two fails though, there was no more doubt about whether PoD was Merlin or not. I held off on my claim for a little longer just to see everyone’s reactions to the third mission failing and potentially gather more reads off it.
One thing spadez found scummy about me is my behaviour after the mission 2 failed. I'll explain my thought process, and if you still think what I did doesn't make sense, point it out I guess?
You have to remember, I have two names on my list. Two players that I know are different alignments. If one is town, the other is scum. I don’t want to say more than that, but I think thou know what this means. And also, my primary task is to ensure Merlin DOES NOT get assassinated. Which is also why I came up with a bunch of under-developed and hopefully correct reads. I wanted to make the mafia think I was merlin.
I was under the impression that PoD was Merlin throughout the early game. Lowkey didn’t expect he would even think of claiming percival as scum. The first time I started doubting PoD was with mission 2. Not because he was acting scummy, but Jeff and Qrs had towny lines here and there... and I have considered the fact that PoD might accept missions that contain scum to keep mafia unsuspicious of him. Or maybe, he just happened to accept mordred, so I let it slide when he accepted mission 2 and it failed.
Now, I can't just openly talk about my reads, because it's important that I don't let the scum know that there may have been a roleswap going on. I was suspicious of PoD, but not enough to claim at that time. This is where I come up with two different ideas that should both, in theory, be helpful.
I know. I realised that I was looking at thy reads with a bubble around my theories making my conclusions a lot more restrictive than they should have been.
Actually, the only scumteam that I could possibly be on is the following:
Me, Bryce, Cole, Qrs
if cole and I are scum, then stashio is town by default. Since I'm fake percival, pod/arisuu are the town team and not the scum team. Which means mission 1 had pod/stashio (town) + jeff. But Jeff wouldn't pass the mission as sole scum, so he'd be town. So PoD/Jeff are town on mission 3, which makes qrs/bryce scum by default.
THIS IS LITERALLY THE ONLY WAY IM SCUM LMAO. Well, I guess it could be me scum and cole town? In which case, what am I doing townreading him lol
So I just typed up a good chunk of text that explained my behaviour between mission 2 and 3, but upon rereading, I feel like mafia would be able to figure out who merlin is from my post.
However, I saved my post on my computer. If Spadez still feels it necessary I explain my behaviour during that time, I will do it, because we need his vote. Colester has no idea what he's doing and even rejected the mission he's on, so if spadez isn't on board, we don't have 6 votes and we won't be able to pass any mission.
Meanwhile, I'll edit my post to try and make it less obvious who Merlin is while still being clear and transparent with my thought process.
By the way, I'd just like to point out that Spadez is willing to discard his early TR of me, his unsure read of pod + arisuu, AND his scumread on stashio, AND the fact that once I got taken OFF the mission, we went from 1 fail to 2 fails. All that just because my TR of colester and he isn't happy with my inconsistency between mission 2-3.
Pod and arisuu haven't been towny in the slightest in the past couple pages lmao. "we lost anyway" what do you think that means?
