Greetings.
Yesterday when the banned user Sankarsh a.k.a. Error a.k.a. Fnoof revealed himself on his new account Mort, a pair of moderators were quick to come to his defense and petition for his unban. Later, the questionable user SirAmelio had leaked chat logs that revealed that Merlot had lied and worked to cover up Mort’s true identity. Amelio’s post was deleted moments afterwards, but here is a picture.
Merlot and Bebop’s questionable behavior regarding Sankarsh both in thread and out of thread is quite alarming, considering that Sankarsh has collaborated with other users to DDoS people, dox people, and hack admin accounts in the past. Bebop in particular posted a memoir in a Main lobby thread describing his fondness for Sankarsh.
Bebop and Merlot themselves are not above colluding with others to find and spread their victim’s personal information. Merlot, for example, believes that sending someone his or her personal information makes for a good joke. Bebop has threatened and harassed users in the past and continues to do so.
Any claim that Merlot or Bebop’s comments in Sankarsh’s thread were sarcastic or in jest cannot be taken seriously, especially when both have warped and unsettling senses of humour. Bebop is not above gaslighting, a trait he shares with Sankarsh.
The question I pose to the community is thus: how can we expect Merlot and Bebop to protect us as moderators and as Sandbox owners if they are willing to defend and cover up the identities of users like Sankarsh? Sankarsh craves the attention he receives from the EpicMafia community by virtue of being Error, but now he knows that Error will never be accepted by the community at large for as long as principled vanguards stand watchful, as questionable as they may be. In theory, Sankarsh could create another account, act in the same manner he has in the past (barring for his illegal behavior), and collude with Bebop and Merlot to protect his real identity, because they are not on our side, they are on his side.
