I honestly can see asian markets like aliexpress or even taobao creating replicas especially since nintendo is big there
If they buy a few kits for $70 each they can easily sell a few hundred kits for like $10+ each
Its the same way pirates crack games, recreating fake designer crap, etc etc. they get their hands on a real piece then mess around with it to get measurements materials and all that other juicy stuff
well the way it looks to be too precise to replicate without having the template but like with google cardboard they encourage people to make their own if they want to
yeah i really like this but i was also fond of the idea of google cardboard. you can make fun video games toys without having to buy something like the wii fit board or similar accessories. plus it's a building project. really really good for i would say middle schoolers. i know that if this existed when i was younger i would have been all over it, it's like a hobby kit combined with games. my only concern is if it worked well but that obviously remains to be seen.
also if nintendo managed to pull off what google cardboard did which is make a cheap headset that doesn't require a lot of additional hardware (like a ps4 vr headset or a a bunch of vr cameras) there would be a very distinct advantage of making new switch vr games for an audience that wants a cheaper and easier vr experience.
If anyone does have a Switch/will be getting a switch please try Lacrimosa of Dana!! 0: I probably spoiled it to at least a couple of people but there's a reason why it's up there in the list of fav games for me! Plus they fixed the english localization
