So in my opinion, 2016 sucked.

In between Brexit, ISIS, Aleppo, the Syrian refugee crisis and many other things, it wasn't a great year. However, this is in no small part due to the RIDICULOUS amount of celebrity deaths we've had in 2016.

I don't do this often, but I feel like doing a little remembrance thread for those we've lost this year. These are in no particular order, and no importance is implied based on positions:

David Bowie, musician, 69, liver cancer

Matt Roberts, guitarist of 3 Doors Down, 38, accidental prescription overdose

Ron Glass, actor (he was Shepherd in Firefly), 71, respiratory failure

Leonard Cohen, musician and songwriter, 82, fell and died during his sleep

Gene Wilder, actor, 83, Alzheimer's

Kenny Baker, R2D2's actor, 81, chronic illness

Youree Dell Harris aka Miss Cleo, television psychic, 53, cancer

Garry Marshall, television producer and creator (he created Happy Days and Pretty Woman among many others), 81, pneumonia

Arnold Palmer, golf legend, 87, died while waiting for heart surgery

Elie Wiesel, Nobel Peace Prize winner and author of Night, 87, natural causes

Anton Yelchin, actor (Chekov in the recent Star Trek movies), 27, car accident

Christina Grimmie, singer, 22, murdered while signing autographs

Gordie Howe, NHL legend, 88, stroke

Kevin Ferguson aka Kimbo Slice, mixed martial artist, 42, heart failure

Cassius Clay aka Muhammad Ali, boxing legend, 74, septic shock

Nick Menza, drummer for Megadeth, 51, heart failure during a concert

Prince Rogers Nelson aka Prince, musician, 57, accidental opioid overdose

Joan Laurer aka Chyna, WWE wrestler, 45, drug overdose

Doris Roberts, actress (Raymond's mom on Everybody Loves Raymond), 90, stroke

Malik Taylor aka Phife Dawg, member of rap group A Tribe Called Quest, 45, diabetes

Frank Sinatra Jr., singer, 72, cardiac arrest

Keith Emerson, keyboardist for Emerson, Lake & Palmer, 71, suicide

Sir George Martin, producer for The Beatles, 90, died in his sleep

Nancy Reagan, former First Lady, 94, heart failure

Harper Lee, author of To Kill A Mockingbird among others, 89, died in her sleep

Dave Mirra, BMX legend, 41, suicide

Maurice White, Earth Wind & Fire creator and vocalist, 74, Parkinson's disease

Joe Alaskey, voice actor for Bugs Bunny and many other Looney Tunes characters, 63, cancer

Paul Kantner, guitarist for Jefferson Airplane and Starship, 74, organ failure

Abe Vigoda, legendary actor in The Godfather and others, 94, natural causes

Alan Rickman, actor (Snape in the Harry Potter movies and Hans Gruber in Die Hard), 69, cancer

Fidel Castro, Cuban revolutionary and leader, 90, natural causes.

These are just the ones I know of, if there are any I missed feel free to add them in the comments below.

Rest In Peace everybody. Here's hoping 2017 is a year with less heartbreak.

Is 2017 going to be a better year than 2016 was?
