Use this thread to suggest ways of improving the report system or streamlining the moderation process!
NOTE - This is not to suggest new mods be added or current mods be removed. This is to suggest changes that affect the way mods might work (examples in the past include giving mods the ability to clear profile embeds).
Thank you Lucid

For fixing many old things and adding many more new things.
That is not true. Popularity and connections is the best way to decide who gets mod and who doesn't. If you won the lottery, you would give money to people you know and not strangers, right?
You think you're very clever, Bebop. But there are many other clever people on this site too. Try looking at things from another angle before making a bold statement, little boy.
That is just an opinion. Someone who begs could end up turning into a great moderator, if only you give them a chance to prove themselves. Furthermore, someone who begs is more likely to be committed to their job than someone who gets it handed to them. It shows passion and that they really want and value their position as a moderator on this site. You need to reassess your statement and look at things from a different perspective, Bebop.
Edark modded only ex and current sandbox mods, the one before him moded his friends, and so on and so on.
Litteraly almost never have there been an admin to mod only capable people and people who actually want, rather than friends or people that suck up to them.
It doesn't matter if you are a good player or a good person, If you can follow the rules or you can't , If you give something to the community or if you do not. All it matters is to suck up to the admin/mods, and that i won't do.
Arcbell suggested that players are able to file reports publicly or privately. He also suggested adding timestamps on reports that linked to the specific time in the game.
Rutab suggested that players should be able to more easily see which moderator is handling their report, and to be able to continue to see it even after the mod has stepped down from the team.
Bebop suggested adding a dedicated appeal button whereby players can click the appeal button on a closed report (perhaps only if they're mentioned in the report) and it would prompt them for a reason. Once the reason has been put in, it creates an appeal with a link to the report being appealed where the game link usually is. I also suggested removing the 10 minute cooldown on filing reports from mods, as mods aren't likely to report spam and if they do they'll just be demodded.
@Arcbell, being able to file reports privately would encourage people to spam the report system using Alts. Were you not there during the dark days where people abused the report system to troll others?
Here's an idea for reports - when a player reports someone, they could write what they are reporting for - GT, ISP, Trolling. And then they could have a timestamp if they want to give evidence, or give the specific reasons.
So an empty report field may appear something like
[Player]
[What for] [When] [How]
So instead of getting a series of reports that say GT, or ISP. We'll get more substantial reports such as.
[Yume]
[GT] [Day 2, end of day] [Voted against the clear, and let mafia blitz.]
And a mod would be able to come in and say, voting your scumread isn't GT. NV.
This not only makes moderating easier - but can also show players what a successful report looks like.
give mods a list of things that constitute GT for popular setups so they don't mistakenly NV actual GT in non-conventional setups *cough* take me to grannys *cough*
