1- blurr out the names of all other runners. Just show the points and rankings. This way gters won't know who to throw against. This shoukd be visible only to admin so that even mods can't tell anybody.

Option 2- do not display the standings at all until someone reaches 2k points. This way players play without stress and have more fun and play to their win condition.

In both options mods will face some issue tracking cheaters. But if admin can occasionally check the round stats, they can inform their role mod team to investigate the games of the people. They will be able to see all the info except points and rankings.

I am not sure if any of the above option is a good idea. At the face of it I think it is worth giving a shot. I want others to discuss this so I can see all angles of this.

Please share the pros and cons and the loop holes.

For example, people can still see the stats somewhere else, so we need to do something about that too. We should try this once.

They'll still see you in game and dodge

its just a good idea. epicmafia comp needs to bew less concerned with the metagame in relation to round scores. it wont solve comps problems because the main problem is lack of an incentive to care, but it would be fun enough of a gimmick to make me try for a round.

there is literally no downside to not openly seeing who is on top of the leaderboard

Good idea. People wont be able to dodge me if its done :doge:

Honestly the only issue I can find with the first one is coding though, it's a really good idea and also stops people from lynching differently if a runner close to them is in the same game etc

It would make cheating harder to spot early in the round if no one can see the scores, but I think you're right about something needing to change to make it more competitive/avoid throws

Guys dont just say which option is better. I thought about these. So I am not able to see all the pros and cons. So I need you guys to tell me issues with these ideas. Along with issues please suggest work arounds as well.

agreed. having points visable is almost required for any serious runner. even though every round is won by someone averaging 3/5.... it still gives a certain motivational factor when you see someone has hit a win streak and blew past you

I think the first option is the better one, because presumably you'd still be able to see scores on the leaderboards just not who they belong to

How do players know their own position in comparison to others? Like, I don't care who's competing against me, but I want to know the points difference.

I think a better solution would be to give a month ban to anyone found GTing in comp games. Stop the notes because they're ignored.

Someone please help me with this. May be can make a good arrangement of this. I have always wondered how it would be if people didn't know I was running and might beat them.
