Anonymous round

1- blurr out the names of all other runners. Just show the points and rankings. This way gters won't know who to throw against. This shoukd be visible only to admin so that even mods can't tell anybody.

Option 2- do not display the standings at all until someone reaches 2k points. This way players play without stress and have more fun and play to their win condition.

In both options mods will face some issue tracking cheaters. But if admin can occasionally check the round stats, they can inform their role mod team to investigate the games of the people. They will be able to see all the info except points and rankings.

I am not sure if any of the above option is a good idea. At the face of it I think it is worth giving a shot. I want others to discuss this so I can see all angles of this.

Please share the pros and cons and the loop holes.

For example, people can still see the stats somewhere else, so we need to do something about that too. We should try this once.

Anon deck is useless.

the best way to do this is to make every setup in one round anon deck. if we did it your way then a meta abuser or cheater will just tell their friends how many points they have, the only thing you accomplished is making it harder for the community to realize someone is cheating

I mean it can't be super hard to code. It's a basic feature that could take him not very long

and that same function can be turned on/off by mods or in game review by anyone?

Maybe their can be an official competitive anon deck so every setup doesn't have to be Mario?

Maybe lucid could implement (lol) another feature that allows the before-game setting of anonymous players, so that you don't have to remake all comp setups anonymously.

The deck could be like "Townsperson A B C, etc"

All avatars could be cleared/the same

anon deck comp game idea: mod deck so we all mods :^)

Either that or just have anon in games. All comp games.

Meta is bull****.

having anon all games doesn't make cheating harder, it just makes catching them harder

I like option 1. Y'all figure out how to implement it. I'll figure out how to win the trophy.

...what are you trying to tell me pranay?

Name masking is done for mods.
deletedabout 8 years
what does available mean? it's not implemented is what im saying. good suggestions rarely get implemented because admins are afraid of change or being the next arcbell. they don't want to be the ones to do it.

Name masking is already available.

this needs to happen, as well as some other thing that was suggested recently that i forgot about. edark you need to actually get on good suggestions when they are actually suggested

Isnt lucid gone ?

Actually, I think the first option is better, since most GT happens in the last days.

We have a name masking feature for the mods. If the names are allowed to be masked on the round thread then users can pick random names. It should be such that if any player other than the admin clicks on the names, then it shouldn't show anything. It should not be linked.
