Because Epicmafia classic format is a dumb setup where by playing to your own win condition, your team (either village, or mafia) can only win about 50% of the time.
But if the mafia gamethrew 100% of the time (as in they admitted to being mafia and got lynched), then everyone's win/loss ratio will jump to 71% (or 5/7), since 5 out of 7 games you win automatically as town, and 2 out of 7 you will lose automatically as mafia.
Similar to IRL, classic format is an example of how if everyone works for their own goals, they reap the lowest reward, while cooperation nets the greatest reward. There is enough selfish shitake going on in the real world that is fukuing everyone over, we dont need it in mafia as well.
