So, is the main opinion that female to male is fine to participate against biological males, but male to female participating in sports against biological females is more controversial?
If I recall correctly, the Olympic Committee currently accepts female to male transgender athletes to play in woman's sports, whereas it requires male to female athletes to undergo hormone therapy first.

unless there was very strong evidence that disproved all possible advantages of being a transgender female then it's probably most fair to treat the issue based on biological sex, if not just to err on the side of caution as far as competitive fairness goes. i don't know what it's like to be a transgender athlete but is it cruel to be told to compete based on your biological sex rather than your gender?
my point is a male body builder will be consistently lifting more than a female just based off biology and what not, so if they have been training as a male to be a track star for the past 10 years they will have a significant advantage over the female runners (on avaerage) so allowing this would be insane.
and making sporting events co-op would be anti productive because women would lose more often than not to the male counterparts and they would not get as much recognition anymore

this is a really complicated issue bc im sure it depends how long you've been taking hormones, but how do you make rules about that? "If you've been taking hormones for x amount of time you can compete with the women." but how do you prove that you've been taking them consistently that long? it seems weird to have to police that but i don't know how else you would regulate it to make sure no one had an unfair advantage.
idk it really just comes down to the question of how much does HRT really do
well i mean im sure the girls are training too. i think the point they're making is that with HRT you gain/lose muscle mass due to changes in testosterone levels.
even if that is the case, she would have been training as a male prior to the change.
now i ain't no scientist but i'm sure that if you train your body for x amount of years, and your body grows. simply changing your gender will not have a sudden drastic affect, and a lot of the work she did as a male will still, regardless of her testosterone levels now give her a great advantage

don't bother, i didn't read the article lol i did watch the video in the op though these guys tend to present news unbiasedly before entering their biased opinions on the matter, usually i agree with them but in this case i think the trans person should not be allowed to race with women based off the obvious advantage they have, regardless of the "testosterone removal therapy bs that was presented"

i didn't read the article yet but as devante pointed out already, the whole reason for the division between sexes in sports is a biological difference that has nothing to do with whether they're born thinking they're the opposite sex. It has to do with testosterone, doesn't it? If she went through a sex change then idk if it'd be ok because idk what it encompasses but there's certainly an argument for not letting her compete in women's races
