The question posed in this thread is not necessarily one of the moderation team, the site owner lucidrains/Phillip Wang, or other moderators/admins on the moderation team of this website.
People are calling for Ethereal's head because they were recently promoted from role moderator to moderator. The people calling for Ethereal to be demodded are generally viewing and accusing Ethereal as a predator.
My question is, if you guys care so much about Ethereal being a potential predator, should you not be arguing that Ethereal should be site banned? (Personally, I don't think Ethereal should be site banned. She has done her time for being banned and is currently a very big help for the moderators and cheating investigation team, in my opinion.) Your argument seems to not want to rid the website of possible predators, but to just make sure they don't become moderators. It doesn't really make much sense to me.
And even if Ethereal is demodded, guess what? She's still going to help with Cheating cases and finding banned users... nothing is going to change (except that she won't be able to do reports). Is that really going to be a sigh of relief for all of you?
So if Ethereal is demodded, what difference is it to you people if she's still allowed to be on the website...?

I am in favour of demodding Ethereal to please the community fwiw (I was before I even made this thread), but if we do that I don't really get why they are even allowed to be on the site anyways. I'm seeing these arguments I just don't agree with them; potential is potential at the end of the day, and I believe Ethereal should be allowed to stay on the site
to be honest im surprised to see people still have faith in the mod team after all this. personally, i have never, not even once, seen a mod or the mod team in its entirety apologize for being wrong.
Well, some of us didn't (which is why I said talk to the admin about it). Take it or leave it; that's the truth and it doesn't matter to me whether or not you believe me lol
While I hope that any sexual predator to be banned, this users existence has only been brought to light to me with their recent promotion to moderator. While I would be more then happy if she be banned, any of us adults here should understand the legitimate concern of having such a person as moderator. If I saw this evidence in any other scenario I would be making the same push, but allowing them to be moderator is a terrible idea, and while Cody has tried to provide legitimate reasoning nothing can outweigh the fact that they have willingly looked up lolicon on multiple times, and still may be acting upon their inner fetishes but more in private, and if that is not reasoning enough to stop them from being one of the moderators I don't know what is. Because most the moderating team seems to be alright with this, we can only ask ourselves what they do in their free time, too, as for all we know they've willingly modded people like this in the past, too.

You cannot tell me people treat mods and normal users exactly the same.
People look at mods for help.
I don't even get where this is going anymore. First, you're arguing over whether she's a pedophile or not, and now you're arguing whether or not she will be able to do anything to the minors of the site.
Right Right Right, Why the f*ck are we talking about pedophiles being mods. Can I please get an explanation on whats going on here so I can make a judgement
