Season 5 was an awesome season with our winner Reamix! We had some sad departures leaving the EMI Judges table, shout out to Kam and Luis4rod for their hard work and service. Thank you for all of those who participated, you are all so talented and we would not be able to have this without your amazing voices. No amount of thank you can be said to our judges who worked very hard and were so dedicated to helping and giving their all to our singers to improve each week.
So i pmed the judges about some possible songs, and I haven't heard back from anyone yet.
Sam Smith - Writing's on the Wall - Could be seen as an "I love you so please love me back or else I can't live" song.
Carrie Underwood - See You Again - "We don't want to break up, but since you're leaving, it is best if we do. But don't worry, we'll see each other again."
Evanescance - My Immortal - "You're gone. I miss you. Please come back." Most likely used to symbolize mourning for a dead loved one, but who says it can't refer to dead love?
Christina Perri - Jar of Hearts - Okay this is a break up song no doubt.
Sia - Elastic Heart - "You may have left me, but you can't hurt me."
If there are any of these songs you feel don't fit the theme (or any that would fit my voice really well) please let me know. Friday is the only day this week I'll be able to record a lot, and I don't want to try five songs XD

well thank goodness you aren't on The Voice right?? Instead of focusing so hard on HOW MANY people are getting eliminated, Focus on singing so YOU DON'T get eliminated.
Yeah,totally understand. This competition means a lot to me right now because of how much I surpassed my own expectations. I really want to continue with it, and it's just a little too suspenseful for me to take. Every week, I've been convinced that the recording I submit will end up being my swan song, but I keep performing at a good enough level to move on. I really want a specific goal I can shoot for, and not knowing whether that would be top 5 or top 6 is a lot harder that not knowing about top 11 or top 12, for example. Don't get me wrong, I definitely am enjoying myself in this game, but I've always been someone who wants details.
I personally think you just have to enjoy singing and not to stress out yourself competing with others. (though I know it is still a contest) everyone has a great voice and that's amazing as it is, but if you think you have to outstand others and you don't sing it also for yourself, this will make you anxious for this comp! do I make sense!!!

Raven, gurl, bae, please. There are seasons of The Voice that go from 8 to 6 to 5 to 3, and others that go from 8 to 5 to 3. I'd quite like to know how many people I have to out-sing. This is super close to the end now, and I feel like we may have earned it by this point. It gets announced every round in, like, every contest. :P
there is no genre requirement or mood requirement. if the song is about a breakup or unrequited love then it is okay.

Do the songs have to be all sad and depressing? xD 'Cause there are "happy"/empowering break up songs like Taylor Swift's 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' or "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor
orrrr are we trying to capture the heartbreak aspect of the songs, which is why most of them are sad.
