This website is far past the point where having ranked and unranked games in main lobby makes sense.

Both sandbox and main lobby suffer from this weird choice. Unranked games should go in sandbox, which will boost the ever slowing population of 12 person closed setups, and ranked games should go in main lobby.

Without the influx of unranked games being made, competitive games will not be second paged so fast, and thus fill more often, allowing more than 2 setups to be played each round.

In fairness, I think we should go with the option that ticks as many people off as humanly possible as punishment for actually still contributing our time and effort to this godforsaken hellhole.

haha this is a godforsaken hellhole of a site that's why i still come on here and make posts like this

Correct. I'm glad that you, slonderman, were able to point out the irony. You did it and I'm proud of you.

if you cant get enough people to play your game it means your game sucks and you should find a better game to offer

for example, 1 big orgy lobby

Where is the line between having fun and being too serious?

Where does fun stop and seriousness start, or vice versa?

The answer is completely subjective, and that's why it's hard.

It is a hard question to answer. I think the "fun" begins when people don't take games as seriously. Whether it's cc'ing a silly claim or afk'ing, or just simply not talking.

I see serious games as ones where all parties are invested wholly into the game. Where no one is making silly jokes and messing around. That's how I view comp at times as well because it's about the strategy and the winning.

Although, like you said, it's all completely subjective.

That's great you think that way, but I meant that more as a rhetorical makes-you-think kinda question. Too much regulation of fun starts to take away the fun.

Also, since its inception, was there ever a point where we weren't revamping the mentor system? Isn't it time we just axe it and admit it was a stupid idea in the first place?

time to admit everything sucks and nothing matters.

I don't think it's a stupid idea, we just need actual mentors. Most of the mentors aren't even active most of the day, and impossible to contact, we just need new mentors.

Removed a mentee from a mentor.
there you go
fnoof • 3 minutes

ok good start, now make another announcement about players who would like help should apply for the mentor program, and get more active players to mentor, example-me.

instead of splitting it up more, here's an idea, one big lobby because the site is dying and nothing matters :)

the mentor system is dumb and literally i've never seen a mentor inside a game helping someone. the last time i did was about a good 4-5 months ago. they also never keep up to date on it, so it's pointless. they should just eliminate it completely, or make new mentors and remove the old ones. I requested to be removed from tartosis so long ago and they still haven't done it.

remove me from being a mentee, let me be a mentor

That's the point in re-vamping it.

The other dimension of this debate that is hard to grasp:

Where is the line between having fun and being too serious?

Do you know what I mean? We want people to be good at mafia and have many options open to them while playing the game, but if people are having fun, why would we want to change that?

Where does fun stop and seriousness start, or vice versa?

The answer is completely subjective, and that's why it's hard.

I don't know why everyone keeps implying that everyone is completely segregated from each other right now.

You literally have to click one button and you're in the other lobby.

We're all one website lol
