...at epicmafia? I'm still a somewhat of a new player, and I'm not that good at the game. How did you learn to get better?

of course "mentoring" works but it should be named something else. this game is like poker where top players post blogs dissecting their hands and decisions they've made at each stage
if you want to learn mafia, post a game of yours that you lost but felt you should have won and ask only for certain players you respect to comment on it
mafia--ingame--might seem like a series of confrontations over so many random variables, but you can improve each interaction. the goal is to make sure you're playing with purpose, something most people dont do (especially as scum)

Mentoring doesn't work for mafia.

that took you like what 9 minutes
Also only Anthony and Connor would bother out of this list you've made

1. Loreli
2. Jesusofnazareth
3. Keri
4. Girallon
5. Orly (Vexium)
6. Connor
7. Devante
8. Anthony
9. Projectmatt
10. Papuito
I'm not saying that all of these players would be interested, but it isn't at all hard to come up with a list of suitable active mentors. I could probably list 50 if I tried.
@Maruiki- dude just get a mentor. That player if good will teach you to be good or will cheat with you to get you or him a trophy. Either ways you will reach your destiny.
wasn't me but vivor mentors are completely unnecessary
are they actually doing anything, out of curiousity
i don't know, but i would bet heavy amounts of money that they aren't. wasn't a bad idea but im positive that it was never really executed beyond naming mentors and assigning mentees. maybe there was some mentoring in the first week or two but definitely not anymore

Eh, to be honest I tried thinking of a roster of like 10 mentors and couldn't. There just isn't the active user base for it.

Another thing the mentor system needs is a group of mentors specifically for teaching mafia alignment skills and a group of mentors specifically for teaching town alignment skills. I don't think a player should be assigned one mentor, either. I think the mentors should alternate mentees.

Neg me Jack, vivor lobby is boring.

Two days before that conversation with Jasprar (and jen was there as well, it was on Skype), Ucklar, the one I had handed to program to, gave me the mentoring lobby back and I didn't even know I was head again. He didn't tell me anything. No one told me and then jen got mad at me when I got no reply from Jasprar for two days, because she said that Ucklar told me and he didn't do anything of the sort. No one told me Jasprar was on vacation either, so I was basically left hanging for two full days and all I wanted was my damn keys. I didn't get a single word about anything.
Then when he came online he basically asked what I wanted to do with the program, so I told him. Then he fired me
I didn't offer resistance or argue at all though, it wouldn't have done anything and I knew it
