Honestly, Christians shouldn't be insulting people like that, so I apologize on their behalf. Would someone mind giving me examples of how science explains things and takes place of a need for a God? I will try to explain from the explanations.

The reason I don't believe in God is primarily because (as in the words of Steven Hawking) the more we discover through science, the less of a NEED there is for a God to Exist in order for the universe to exist.

First, in Ancient Egypt, we believed that there was a God
(Ra) to rise the Sun, as we had no other explanation for this, so it made sense at the time. But obviously, with the progression of science, we learned why the sun truly rises, and what it truly was, and therefore it was illogical to think there was a sun god running the show.

Up until the discovery of plate tectonics and the creation of Darwin's Theory of Evolution, we had little explanation as to how the world we lived in came to be. Therefore, we said "God" made it this way. But with each respective concepts discovery, we supplanted the God explanation with a more logical explanation.

The more we discover, the less and less we need there to be a "God" to have explained things. The reason we have a God and gods to begin with were to explain things we didn't know. With the progression in physics research and all fields of science, there will come a day, I don't know when, where humanity will discover the origins of the universe with absolute proof, and it wont be because of God. When that day arrives, humans will have two options - either become a Deist (look it up if you don't understand), or ditch the idea that a God exists altogether.

God punished him for being a heathen by putting him in a wheel chair. Also, religion isn't just about understanding our creation it is also about morals. Maybe if you stopped polishing your fedora collection, brushing your My Little Pony dolls, and dry humping your waifu pillows you'd actually God. Until then keep munching on your Hotpockets and make sure your supply of lotion and tissue are full. Looks like you'll be needing them for the rest of your life. :^)

First off, please understand I'm not attacking any person who believes in a God/Religion. I don't care if you do, and i'm happy you have something to believe in. If you read the English Writing Carefully, you will see I was merely stating my opinion. And whenever someone starts usings personal direct insults as opposed to logical arguments, I consider my position having won the argument, as they have nothing better to use to support their position.

You also fail to see the pattern that is being drawn - that the more science progresses, the less and less we need a god to explain things, leading the the eventual decline of a religious belief in something.

Like I said, God never makes mistakes. The Bible says that the world will end soon. Everything will die, sooner or later. Nothing is immortal. That's why Christians need to make a change in this world and encourage everybody to be saved and accept Christ as their Savior. That's the only way to get to Heaven. Nothing else can get you to Heaven. We humans are the only beings that have souls--and they either go to Heaven or Hell. It'd be pitiful if stubborn people failed to understand that they need to be saved, and end up going to Hell for eternity. Even after they heard about God.

God did a pretty ****ty job because Steven Hawking is still a badass

God never makes mistakes. He put all of us here on this earth for a reason. Also, I'm not sure if this is correct, but I've heard that Steven acknowledged that there was a God before he died. Actually, when his wife asked him if he believed in a God, he shrugged. So basically Steven Hawking is in the "Not sure" group. There are no famous atheists. Famous evolutionists even acknowledged that there was a God, or a Creator.

Of course there is a God. Do you guys really think that the world would be created by a big bang or by a speck of dust? It is impossible, really. Just think, if the entire universe and every detail in it resulted from one of those things or was just already there. That's not plausible. Only a Creator can create these things. We needed to have Someone make all of these intricate designs.

Every star in the sky is the dying sun of a failed solar system like ours. The universe isn't so perfect when you look past one of countless planets that failed to sustain life. If there's a creator, it made a lot of mistakes before getting it right, almost as if getting it right was just a chance and it took countless rolls of the proverbial dice to happen.

I am a spiritual individual, but pretty much every single universally recognised religion or theory blows.

Agreed. I actually don't like any part of religion other than the idea of a community helping each other and a larger community, which can be accomplished by something other than a church. I believe one's connection with whatever higher power(s) exist out there is their business and only there's, and no one should be able to tell them what to believe.

btw arguing about religion on the internet or anywhere for that matter is like 1 step above arguing about politics, you'll end up nowhere lol
