meh, the cheating isn't that big of a problem, people have been cheating before prizes were given, and after they stopped being given.
The only real way to solve this is start punishing cheating more severely - if you cheat & finish the round you get site banned for the 6 months, then when your site ban is up your account gets deleted & you have to remake the account so your trophy & the tokens are gone.

To be totally honest with you I don't want the sandbox and red heart players that are currently in those types of games to join competitive games in the first place. I'd rather see fresh faces who were never very interested in unranked or fancy pants in the first place, and those kinds of people are only going to be attracted with advertising dollars.

The ironic thing is as admin, arcbell probably tried & almost succeeded doing some of the best things but everyone hated him.
Him giving tokens & an emote to the winners was a very good idea, I think if he doesn't already - luicd should allow admins to be able to give out tokens to players & have that as an incentive with custom emotes.
Giving real money will never work, because no one will constantly fork up money to give to people on epicmafia it's too unreasonable to ask for consistently

I'm not trolling. 90% of this sites problem stem from a lack of advertising to different demographics so we got the same tired worthless sandbox and classic players that we've always had a majority of. I'd happily donate ten bucks a month to an advertising fund. If you think 100 dollars a month is too unreasonable to pay to keep this site afloat then it doesn't deserve to stay afloat.

Shortening rounds and trying to make trophies valuable again aren't very compatible. The more effect luck has (because shorter round is more prone to quirks of luck), the less valuable a trophy.
I've been saying for over a year that we should multiple types of competition though, rather than always the run-to-2k thing. Alternate between 4-6 types of competition; which not only gives incentive to try and win a 'grand slam' of all of them, but keeps the entire thing far fresher.
