yeah i'm glad no one hated on moocow. i don't remember anything about him except that he was a cool cucumber in a sea of salty pickles.

jasper i think you've been perfectly fine and you're too hard on yourself. i think you can be a bit too passive on issues and i've had to shake once or twice but you're trying and i worry when you get stressed about this dumb site which is why i always offer my hand of service
I think Vancy would've had a much easier time if he had a team built around him made to work with someone like him. At the time, I was pretty much handing him the team like a turnkey solution not really realizing how much my presence made a difference in how everyone functioned, and I assumed 'the team' would ultimately act the same.
I think any new admin should have the opportunity to build their own team from scratch since there are personality and management matches that better suit certain types of people and not others.
aw man, i miss modding now. jasper let's mod me again. let's bring back the magic.
im really not a great admin you wouldn't enjoy it half as much

professionalism is a concept that doesn't need to be taken too seriously because then you have people who give up their personality for being a mod and it looks really ingenuine and actually isn't 'professional' at all
the best attitude to have as a mod is to realize that you're expendable and to not let it get to your head. you don't need to change your posting to be right, you just have to be right

i think like, on paper, you can make a list and categorize good mods and bad mods along with casual mods and "professional" mods and you'll have two completely identical lists.

dan's just a really good PR speaker and good with people and id say it's no different from when i met him
you just seem like a type of guy who is really down to earth but still has leadership qualitites

yeah i mean modding as a job sounds lame but modding as a hobby sounds ok.

yes dan i loved how positive you were and tried to be uplifting it was a really really good trait to had and it made everyone feel better because of it
in retrospect, all of the best admins (being sachy alex and dan) were the ones that made the mod chat fun to be in.
imo modding is just a hobby and it should be seen more as enjoyment rather than as a job. If you enjoy what you're doing, it shouldn't feel like 'work' (at least most of the time). Maybe I was too lenient on some people who didn't pull their weight, but I always had trouble justifying being overly strict when I wasn't really losing when people weren't contributing as much as they should have. It's all for fun, I'd say.
i mean, at the end of the day, people still have lives and have other things to attend to than doing reports, but i think it's good to make sure things are being done efficiently even if modding really is like a community service.
of course, obviously there's a standard that needs to be upheld, but I just had difficulty being strict on people who were volunteering their time (any time even) to help the site out, for no personal gain.
Yeah Dan, that's good advice. I've never has to work super hard to make friends because a majority of mine became close with me automatically by the virtue of us being in the same homeschool group and having similar interests, so I'm not sure how to put myself out there but I'm definitely gonna be brave and try

i always liked your stance on modding and i told myself that if i ever became admin i would try to emulate it. you always did a great job of building a sense of camaraderie between the mods and the mod chat suffered once you quit because of it, sadly

dan always checked the mod chat like 'hey mods how is everyone doing' and it always opened avenue for discussion
honestly this'll sound really lame but it reminded me of like, dad coming home from work as everyone was playing games and stuff
