Anthony is a good guy, an amazing player, and probably a good mod. However, I think it's important to enforce a no-tolerance approach on cheaters as mods.
Connor was good to work with - I can vouch for our time together when Arcbell was admin. He can make you feel like a turd for disagreeing with him or doing something that he doesn't like, but the passion is definitely a good trait, even if his intensity can be polarizing to some.
I'd want to see how the site would look with Connor as admin.

connor the tl;dr version is that it's impossible for people to respect you when they know that you'll never respect them, and you're the one that creates those sort of standoffs most of the time. whether you're right or wrong is ultimately irrelevant, and we both know i think you're right vastly more often than you're wrong
jasper didn't mod me because i railed on projectmatt. that's it. i was a straight and honest dude to him during the whole process and he was very impressed, while other mods at the time shut me down because "it was all fake". when those mods were gone, projectmatt turned against me because i didn't like his girlfriend. none of that has anything to do with any reports
It wont kill brain cells. If you're not already abandoning expectations going into games you're carrying unnecessary baggage into them.

the issue is the times when your heels are so dug in that the only thing you can manage to say to the other person is that they must be an idiot for disagreeing with you, which you don't seem to realize is just exacerbating the situation even when they're actually wrong

like, it's not mafia at all, but being able to outsmart the whack-a-mole playing braindead fp players by playing their own game is kind of satisfying

Bill, I'm 90% sure that if I sit here and argue with you I will lose. I am frustrated that I was cheated out of a trophy and it makes me mad that a cheater was modded. That's it. That's my whole argument. It's not substantive or logical, I just feel like I was really screwed by cheaters and I'm miffed that cheaters are given such forgiveness for an act that absolutely ruins the game for other people that they are allowed to then go on to moderate alongside respectable Yale girls who never cheated like Laila.
this black-and-white attitude is why i, and apparently jasper, don't believe you'd be a good mod who would work well with the mod team. you're a massive asset when you're right and a massive liability when you're wrong and frankly the good doesn't outweigh the bad
i have no idea what specific instance you're talking about, because i don't consider myself close minded. there's a right & wrong answer in pretty much every aspect of moderation and just because i omit "[i see where you're coming from, but] you're wrong" doesn't mean i don't actually consider what they have to say
no one's asking you to dig through a thread when i'm asking you to specifically iso reread a handful of 2-3 sentence posts contained within 2 1/2 pages of a topic. if you can't do that then you aren't actually serious about discussing this and we should just drop it.

he cheated because his friend had cancer and was going to die, he can't be held responsible for his moral obligation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation
If he cheated for websex it's forgivable. If he cheated for some scrub that can't win on their own, it's be a nah.

I mean the principle stems from me being cheated out of a trophy, and cheaters are the part of this game that I detest the most. A cheater being modded makes me feel pretty cynical about the site, but like I said I'm just one dude and obviously a lot of people disagree with me.
