I'm a proponent of comp being restricted to only dawn start scumhunt setups but at least I realize that I'm the only one who wants that and that it will never happen. I'm a realist idealist.

It is. I'm pretty sure Zovea has unrealistic expectations here.
What you /can/ do however, is not restrict play like mods keep trying to. It inhibits creativity. You guys are also being biased about it and only banning the stuff you don't like, ignoring stuff like night start even though it's just as "uncompetitive" as yakuza etc.

I thought they just got rid of fishers price. Which is too heavily reliant on night actions and you can figure out the mafia in like a minute based off common sense. Its a fun setup but kind of silly

That's a pretty nahtzee-esque way of thinking; you can't really gas the bad players on a site that's ideally made for having fun. Yeah OK the mods could potentially be more strict when it comes to limiting (allowing?) setup choices throughout the round but when it comes to individual games there's not much you can do except go on a button-mashing-spree if they do a wrong move.

I lurked in the shadows for less than a day, and then I got what I wanted.
I'd tell you about my fishing trip yesterday, but because you're a caremad with a low IQ I will subject you to the full force of my internet persona instead. Eat my butthole, White Hater.
It wouldn't be so bad if mods would actually work to curb bad play. However when you let bad play run rampant and refuse to do anything for comp while actively working against comp you end up where we are now.

I wonder how long the mods are going to destroy competitive viability for the sake not having to deal with reports? I can not think of a single changed the mods have made for comp that didn't have "not having to deal with it in the report section" as a core reason for making the change.
The viability of yak has to deal with the fact that it destroys the notion of clear and forces individuals to be invested in winning games. Ignore the fact that Yak can be abused, that what we have mods for. In between heavy handed moderation (how willing do you think people will be to abuse yak if they were suspended from games for 2 days for doing it or just flat out received cheating violations for it?) and Lucid (yea yea I know, however if we revive the role and make it popular it should bump it up on his none site priority list) we should be able to use the last remaining role on this site that forces people to open minded about it when played to restore comp to whatever glory its capable of.
