I have zero chance of ever being a mod, so at this point every single post i make is a joke. If I was ever modded, the same thing that happened with gafgarion or whatever would happen here. So I really REALLY don't feel like being modded.

modding is like... a spear. You can throw it at your enemies like a pro, but its up to the same enemies to dodge them. Also if aforementioned enemies are your friends, you might throw a blunter spear, but that might get your fellow tribe mad at you.

Imagine yourself extremely obese. Now look to the side and you have a box of a dozen donuts. Modding is knowing and accepting that you're obese, but you continue to shove every single sweet circle of diabetes into your face without so much as taking a breath, even though you know it's not good for you.
Not sure why this is being brought up at this second but yeah, i've gotten thicker skin, and more comfortable with myself over the years. I've also started doing something about it, so it shouldn't be a big deal at this point.

The community will like you and you will be popular if you're not a bad mod most of the time, because usually the lesser known accounts that really dislike you are either banned users, delusional morons who don't realize they insufficiently participated in their game or committed a game-related suicide, or someone trolling you.
If you're a good mod and get the majority of the people to like you, the cool, you're a good mod.
Modding isn't all it's cracked up to be because you realize that you can't just nonchalantly make all the decisions you want that benefit you and your e-friends and then you're like "f*** this work sucks"

it's not a conflict at all, he's no different than 85% of other mod applicants who think power will get them liked, and then end up writing manifestos about how terrible the community makes modding

All his posts joking about being a mod are probably secretly not jokes but he doesn't want people to know he actually wants to be a mod, so he's stuck in this weird in-between phase
