I went to the theatres for the first time since Monsters Inc. in November. (Yes, the old Monsters Inc.) I saw the Theory of Everything and utterly despised the movie, though the production was very, very well done and it was beautifully done. Still hated it.
i think has a good shot at winning best picture because it won the producer's guild award (and i learnt in film the other day that the winner of the pga has won the oscar for best picture for 8 years running)
although i would rather boyhood won. boyhood didn't feel pretentious but this felt very pretentious
really? i didn't feel at all like it was very pretentious. it was way too self-mocking for that (but i guess that isn't saying much).
Absolutely incredible movie. I saw boyhood too, i'm fine with either winning both were great. The thing is Boyhood is amazing and all because it was filmed over 12 years, but the way Birdman was made just seemed like a more courageous attempt at a film.
