cos stephen was supposed to be dead and she didn't know what she'd got herself in for. she felt trapped in the relationship, because being a carer is a full time job and stops you having your own life.
oh oh oh also that reminded me, it kind of pissed me off how the whole film was shot to make the audience pity stephen
i mean like yeah motor neuron disease is awful but i didn't think they went into enough detail about what jane had to endure and it almost came off as really bitter when she made the remark that was like "yeah but they said it was only going to be 2 years"
Jane wasn't completely perfect if that's what you mean. Like, she clearly knew she had feelings for the guy and let him hang around. (Also went camping with him while Stephen was out of town iirc) but she didn't cheat afaik.
i dunno, really. i just think the film skewed things a little in favour of him. stephen hawking is actually known to be a bit of a git. he was saint stephen in the film.
the theory of everything was nice at the time, but i did a little researching after the film ended, and it changed the facts a little in stephen hawking's favour. for example, it was him that divorced the wife rather than the other way around.
this, i think that jane was portrayed as being a little bit of a wet weekend in the film which is pretty ironic considering the film was based on her memoirs/personal opinion which suggests that there was definite bias
