I'm like van gogh but instead of cutting my ear off I just delete my account.

People always ask me: "Retti, why did you delete on Epicmafia? If you wanted to leave the site, you could just not log on everyday." They fail to understand my artistic expression

Retti says

jericho delete my GRS violation, this account won't delete itself

he's already forum banned

anyway, ban pranay.

Also you can't compare moderating on this to forums where moderating a forum is generally easier and typically a lot ARE actually under heavy scrutiny but they just ban people who outright say anything bad to them.

You could compare it to a game but most game moderators get paid and not in pastries.

fancy pants is fun if you pretend it's randomly generated AI spouting pre-coded text, which isn't that far from the truth.

I don't blame you for quitting, you did a lot and had to deal with some really tedious investigation. I appreciate all the work you did with me and with Vancy. You were a strong voice in mod chat and I liked having you around. Of all the cheating investigations I was a part of, the ones I worked alongside you were definitely the smoothest (catching Rawrarrior was probably the most smoothly run mod operation I've ever been a part of). You did a really good job, even though people may not have told you often enough (positive reinforcement thread can only do so much).

As far as your complaints go, I'll say that the main difference is that forum mods on forums are only there to monitor inappropriate content, stop flame wars, and lock threads. If someone gets banned, they usually don't get unbanned. A lot of forums treat it like it's a privilege to be there. On Epicmafia, it feels like it's a user's right.

EM mods are expected to do all that and be referees. It's a lot of work. I don't think the mod vs. player rhetoric can change given the high amounts of tension that people have when playing games or when they feel like they've wrongly been given a violation. It's just the nature of the game that things are like this.

But hey, you grow older and more weary of things. Good luck with your life and stay in touch pal.
