Adsense's policies only apply to pages with ads on them. If I'm remembering correctly, the forums used to, but obviously don't now. Games don't have ads in them either, and you can, in actuality, swear your happy heart out in games the last time I checked earlier today, as the censor isn't applied there. Inconsistency's an issue.
I'm going to talk to Lucid about it soon, there are way more pressing things right now that he and I need to chat about - like the bugs affecting people playing games.
Giga I'm talking about from when the censor was first added. I haven't spoken to him about it since. It shouldn't really be such an issue that we can't swear anymore considering the site almost died, after all.
Measures that were, in actuality, already in place, save for an active forum thread containing private messages of a certain user's inbox.
I think there's a disconnect. What time did this occur?
Mikalis, when reporting the site to Adsense, passed along the thread that had Snailsmale's PMs to Romeo in it. The measures that were already (rightfully) in place can be found in the "Hateful Comments" and "Harassment" violations, which are actually outlined in the Adsense polices, unlike cursing.
I see - I can talk to lucid about removing the censor, but the censor also includes a lot of the sexually explicit stuff that was pointed out to him by the Google representative as not okay. Lucid spoke with the guy, I didn't - so I don't know what the deal was exactly.
Sexually explicit content should obviously fall under the "inappropriate content" rule, as should drug usage. However, using a censor won't have any effect on that. For example, I can rattle off a 3000 word essay on why I enjoy smoking weed (I won't because I'm not 15, or IAMCOP), and be able to do so without using anything included in the censor. This, of course, would be a direct violation of the Adsense policy, but not a violation of Epicmafia's policy. See the issue?
they must have re-evaluated em to give them back? we were swearing since the wipe happened
And I'm sure one of the things that got our appeal through was the addition of a swear filter. I wasn't told anything about that at all, so I'm not sure what the deal was.
