oh *** hell requiem for a dream is just what. it's a fantastic film with great artistic direction and concept but seriously what the ***
i love horror films and i watch them all the time because it's my favourite genre but i can honestly say i've never watched a horror film that's scared me or even had a lasting effect (eg not wanting to be home alone or out alone at night or w/e) but *** REQUIEM FOR A DREAM MADE ME WANNA DIE like it made me schitz out in the corner of a room rocking w/ my teeth chattering and biting my nails to stop me from going into a full blown panic attack or throwing up
the final 5 minute montage is just something else
I can confirm Katie nearly panicked at the end of that film, the soundtrack alone gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it. The fact that a film can cause such a reaction and make me feel such strong emotions is the sign that it's a masterpiece. Even if it is super *** up.
The old woman from Requiem stayed with me for a longass time. Also, I didn't find trainspotting depressing. See: Schindler's List, Apocolypse Now, Taxk Driver, One Flew Oved the Cuckoo's Nest, Mystic River and just 1 scend from Full Metal Jacket. Also A Clockwork Orange.
Apocalypse Now is a bad film, and everyone will disagree with me for saying that but I really don't like it.

The fridge creeped me out too. More than that, Harry's arm made me really squeamish.
I saw it along time ago and don't remember much. I DO remember one scene though where a woman takes speed and you see her nonstop clean her house in fast-motion while the sun is going down. It was the creepiest scene to me for some reason
I genuinely find her fridge scarier than anything in most horrors...
