Connor the reason you weren't allowed to tie the round is the same reason you wanted to tie the round, and it is because it is exploiting the tie system to get yourself into a position that would otherwise be impossible (or more difficult) for you the fair way.

These are not equivalent at all. Tying the round allows you to get a trophy that should be above you because the system is flawed and does not lock the upper trophies.
