I disagree completely. Riot sachy and laexio always told us that using BANIDS to out people should not be done, but that they did not care if the alt was found by regular means
Bronto, one could consider what Clarkeboi posted to be art - it was an album cover. And Riddler posted a video from a television show, which to many is also art. Ignoring one thing just because you personally consider it art ruins the integrity of everything you claim to be trying to do and is contradictory.
He got a violation for it - what's your point? An image in front of you is different than a link you have to click on with a song that contains profanity. I'm just saying it's something that wouldn't have crossed my mind to report.
I'm high strung because I don't want to lose the site and I don't want to have to get rid of the forums. All of the problems that the site has had stems from these forums.
Um. We have to look into any report, even those by a banned user, and see if it's a legit report or so I thought. Of course we ban the reporter too if he's evading but... that doesn't keep us from looking at the report.
It's always been a rule in as much as the you can't mod cheaters rule. Who cares if it wasn't written in the rules page, it was a rule
no. it was NEVER a rule. EVER. it wasnt ever an UNWRITTEN RULE. it was just DISCOURAGED and FROWNED UPON, with most, if not all moderators, had a code of honour
there is a no-tolerance policy with banned users reporting people, squirtle. if he believed you were banned it was the right thing to do.
That's silly, Connor. Rule-breakers get away with breaking rules if the only people to call them out are banned users? You don't even look into them? Terrible. What's even worse is that this was a case of assumptions - he closed legitimate reports based on an assumption. Is that a good use of your authority?

It's not really even sifting through threads. You're so high strung about making sure you follow Lucid's order to the t but you're missing that all you have to do is type in "youtube" or "f***" into the search bar and you can find all these inappropriate posts.

Correct.
Mods don't have to tell other mods that banned users are filing reports. Considering what SquirtleSquad has been doing is abc-esque it's not a surprise, I thought he was a banned user too.
I'll be honest and say that profanity in music is something I'd glaze over because it's art. There was stuff in those reports that was legit and vio-worthy though.
I personally just dislike the method of sifting through threads trying to get people in trouble and make moderators look bad. By doing this and making extra work for moderators who have to deal with more of these unpopular reports, eventually the forums may have to be taken away and/or our speech limited further if this sort of behavior continues by SquirtleSquad or others. I spent most of today dealing with these sorts of reports and they're easily the least pleasant and most stressful since there's so much subjectivity and little precedent to go on.
I want to be able to focus more on improving community relations and doing stuff that'll be good for the community instead of restricting them. By actively seeking out this sort of stuff, all that's happening is our freedoms get limited.
Also, as far as outting users go - Riot casually outted Howl as snails a while back and no one batted an eye. I've spoken to Goodbar about it and ensured that he won't do this again, although I can relate to the frustration.
All the reports closed were closed without vios given, so it didn't seem like it was a case of inconsistencies. I closed them because they were from days ago and warnings were given. As the site moves to such strict rules I think warning can be given first, and I noted that if they were to do it again to please report them right away and they'll be given vios.
what up o.o
Goodbar closed multiple reports without violations simply because he thought a banned user had reported them. No one was warned.
