I just wanted to post this as we have decided to make a new Inappropriate Content Violation. Given the recent AdSense violations the site has received, and that lucid is in the process of appealing this violation as well as possibly looking into alternative sources of ad revenue, we need to clean up the site as a whole and strictly enforce their guidelines.
This rule has been rolled out to serve an immediate need as we make through this transition. Mods have been instructed to be lenient in the coming days and weeks as this new rule gains awareness and as the paradigm shift begins. That being said, any community and moderator input on the language of this rule would be greatly appreciated.
We'll be giving out mostly verbal warnings, notes for now (especially to those who are unaware, of course), but moving forward we will start enforcing the violations more strictly.
I'd like to give shout outs to gistofeverything for the language of the ruling, and Giga for drafting up the disciplinary scheme.
Posting content to any part of the site that could be considered derogatory, vulgar, or slanderous anywhere on the site, including but not limited to the forums, comments and games. What about the Cop/Stalker's tobacco pipes. Dude, don't fight this with me I will win here. I've read the Ad Sense list and it is gar-bage! If we were to adhere to ALL of it ... shakes head ... idk we could but it'd be a rehaul on everything.
Meh, the problem with the Ad Sense list is that it NEARLY covers everything. What are we in a disney world? It covers stuff that the word "Mafia" is just tailored to. Brass knuckles. Illegal guns. What about the Terrorist Role? Do we have to get rid of that too? I've been talking to gamers about how to make a Mafia game ... for 12 year olds and up. The nature of the Mafia was to murder people. You can't just completely divorce that and everything that comes with that from this game. Look I want the site to keep running. But this new stance Google is taking on everything ... is Disneyriffic. Google is a multi-billion dollar industry now; that wants to make it into MORE homes and get MORE dollars. They are doing that because now that they have made themselves into a web necessity they can call the shots and tell you what to view, what to buy, and where to spend your time. I'm sorry, but they shut the party down and now we all have to spend Saturday night at Grandmas.
Serious question, will this count toward the eight violations = site ban rule?

Also, if the swearing really is a big deal for younger players or parents or whatever, then make the system where certain people under a certain age simply can't see certain content/words. Make it so where people above a certain age can see the content, while those under that certain age can't. For example, let's say the age where people can see a cusswords is set at 14. When someone in the comments, forums, or in game cusses, all players who are above the age of 14 can see that cussword. But for players who are under the age of 14, the word is changed to something else, like apple, or orange, or something. "Damn it" is changed to "Darn it" or what have you, and derogatory words like fag and the n-word simply don't appear at all no matter what age you are. Just an idea. <3
