How bout them Royals? That was probably the 2nd greatest baseball playoff game I've ever watched right after the cardinals miracle win a couple of years ago. Any thoughts about the game?

Yankees suck.

Meanwhile, in New York.....

FO is currently figuring out which way-past-his-prime player to dump a giant salary on and have him play half the season due to injuries. -.-

I will say this though. If the Yankees are able to get either Lester, Scherzer or Shields, their rotation will be nasty. I mean imagine a Tanaka, Sherzer/Lester/Shields, Pineda top three. Pineda is underrated, Tanaka is a beast, and any of those three have playoff experience. Add a little bit of hitting and the Yankees could be good. That being said, I'm not very optimistic......

We only inform because we care. The only guy I disagree with Gira on is Brock Holt, who I think is going to be a decent utility guy. Plus he knows how to take a pitch - something Ciriaco never did.

Lot of fun you are

bradley isn't an MLB player, vazquez can't hit enough to be a starter, brock holt is pedro ciriaco 2.0, the farm system is massively overrated and most of those guys aren't good enough to be MLB regulars. allen webster effing blows and rubby is a 4th starter at best

e: allen webster has a career 6.25 ERA in 89 MLB innings and people still think he has a future on the team

Nahhh, lots of young talent, plus i have a feeling we're gonna make a splash in free agency (please god re-sign Lester). The roller coaster ride since 2011 will continue as next year we dramatically improve, again. Obviously a completely biased homer view filled with optimism, but after this year's stinker what do you expect from me
Outside of Xander and Castillo, what young talent are you talking about? And even IF they get Lester back, their pitching is average at best.
xander, rusney, mookie like catbae said, JBJ (needs to improve his hitting but a gold glove finalist his rookie year is damn impressive), christian vazquez is gonna be the starting catcher next year, mr. does literally everything Brock Holt, and then we've got guys in the farm system: Deven marrero, blake swihart, even checcini at 3rd. Pitching we need to sign an ace, but allen webster and rubby de la rosa are young guys who played in the majors this year, plus henry owens, matt barnes, eduardo rodriguez et. al. in the minors. farm guys can be trade bait too

Jake Peavy's gonna add a trolley to his world series mementos. How much usage a trolley and duck boat get in Alabama, I have no idea. But thats pretty cool

Bumgarner's numbers in the World Series are inhuman (5-0, 0.25 ERA)

To be fair, I certainly didn't see the Sox making a run last year, and I sure as hell didn't see the Royals making a run this year.

On paper, yeah, they're probably a solid five years away from being relevant again.
the whole division is basically gonna be terrible but they are openly cheaping out on starting pitching when they have 0 mlb caliber starting pitchers on the team

not to mention there's a pretty strong indication the FO has no idea what it's doing - they trade for cespedes and 2 months later it's getting leaked that they hate him and want to trade him

My sister and I cried :( I couldn't calm her down for awhile. It was very devastating and sooo unexpected.

rip oscar that was so sad and i didn't even know who he was, i can only imagine cards fans' reactions :(
MeIodyalmost 12 years ago
It depends on what moves the Cardinals make this year. They have some serious consistency issues and with the death of Oscar Taveras, our future has been screwed up. (Oscar :((( )
