Good and underrated, but they didn't have much in terms of mainstream impact, which is sad. I'd like to see more of Fort Minor, but it seems that angsty nu metal is the way for Mike S.
true that, you gotta admit that remember the name is their best though :P. the beat is so unique, and mike is possibly one of the most underrated rappers out there :(
hah yeah I'm working on a mixtape to be put out by december. You listen to grime rap I'm presuming by your location? I only really know lady sovereign and thats because she had 1 hit in like 05 lol. but she did perform as an opener for my fav rapper lupe fiasco. didn't go over too well cause nobody knew her.
And as far as freestyling goes, it is hand in hand with writing. The best freestylers have a memory vault of things that they know flow into one another, and can remember and pick it from there. I've found my freestyling got a lot better as my writing progressed. I used to be only able to go over about 2-4 sentences but now I can do entire songs. What you say can be simple to start out with, just vibe the beat and just say something, anything, and keep it going. And as your rhyming vocabulary expands, it'll get smoother. Cheers man, thanks for listening!
I've actually faced a lot of problems just to get that out, and I was sitting in your exact position when I was that age. I knew I could rap and wanted to rap but I didn't know how to write well to a beat or freestyle. The answer is to just keep writing. Every time I hear a nice beat or feel inspired I write it. Often there's no beat at all and I just think of a funny wordplay or lyric and I'll put it in my phone and go from there. The thing is to have to go back and see what needs to be changed to put it on the beat correctly, see what fits and what doesn't. I say write write write every day, at least a verse or something, and over time you will start to get better.
hah yeah it's cause i tried to sync the audio from the instrumental and the audio from my camera voice recording separately. not the best idea so there is about a 1 second lag on the lyrics.
