It doesn't expose the mafia at all. Statistically, you are more likely to lose the game by not lynching between cop claims on day 1 with a mislynch. I could run the numbers for you if you really like, but I've enough experience with the game to know that not using the mislynch is almost always suboptimal.
i know there was a lot of yelling in that game but i just wanted to let you know that it's always the best strategy in almost any setup to lynch when you have a mislynch. NLing just means you have to make a 50/50 call somewhere down the line with no room for error. much easier to have the ability to make mistakes with a lynch and then recover, there's been a lot written on this so please keep it in mind
