Whats this?

Calling all writers! I decided to host a contest for talented writers. The idea is each week there will be a theme, prompt or task and you must create a composition relating to the challenge.

You will have roughly a week to complete your creative works and then the audience will vote for their favourites. I will also be judging you out of 10. Their will be no eliminations, the winner is determined by the amount of points you rack up at the end.

Audition

Here is your entry task.

Write a 300-400 word narrative inspired by one of these visual prompts.

Good luck to everyone who has a go! Message me your submission and I will go over them. You can use a document or write it in the message, I don't mind. Remember the more original and creative the better!

Due by; Friday the 19th of October at 11:59pm EST.

Techniques and devices

Remember to use literary devices to help with your writing and show do not tell.

Metaphors The lines on my forehead were illustrated embarrassment.
Similes Her eyes were as blue as the ink in my pen.
Alliteration The furrow followed free.
Assonance / Consonance We’ll wait till May when the shade blocks the sun’s rays.
Personification I heard the last piece of cake calling my name.
Allusion Chocolate was her Achilles' heel.
Syntax, Diction, Flashback, Anecdote, Foreshadowing, etc.

Questions

How many people can participate?

I'm not sure as I don't even know how much interest this will get. I'd like at least 10 and maybe maximum would be 15? Maybe 20 but I don't think this will get 20 peoples interest.

Is this more of a popularity contest?

Since I'm scoring out of 10 not necessarily and viewers will get a few picks to give out votes. If people are worried that's what this competition will become I can make entries anonymous but after a couple of rounds it may be apparent as to which entry is what person.

How long will this go for?

10 weeks after the audition round.

A sentry looked towards the dull and dead rocks that were specked across the horizon. He hadn't heard any reports back from the occupied territories in Zi Huo. It was imperative that the Kagshaw of Zongfei, their supreme battle council, was always informed, because as it is in Humaniyye battles, things changed quickly. Very quickly.

And he saw ships. Noble, gleaming ships, with blue sails and gold wreaths.

"Nothing new, but I'm going to announce to the Kagshaw that there are about a basic platoon's worth of ships out at sea, now with golden wreaths."

An armada of nearly 13,000 ships, with an equally massive supply train and 15 columns filled with large, purple, naval artillery cannons in a line between each ship was before him.

"And that was just one cannon... in the name of all that is Humaniyye, wha..att.. is this... this colossal... amount of ships? We.. have never.. lost?" The sentry began to sputter. No Humaniyye would put so much into war as to make their fellow Humaniyye suffer as more is diverted to war....

And the sentry, and soon, the Zongfei State, would realize that even though they were the same Humaniyye their enemies were, they lived as if they were still in the era of Kozzy Maganthe, a single united collective with no enemies and no internal issues. After all, the original state, Kozzy Maganthe, did shape the development of the Humaniyye Race.

They just didn't exist as if there were enemies.

Humaniyye's first, and primary, civilization occurred on the delta of River Tibphrates, around 10,000PD in the Humaniyye Full Communion Calendar. The civilization referred to itself as Kozyy Magnathe, or "ones who work."

The development of Humaniyye was impacted by the fact that they first settled by the river delta, as at this point made Humaniyye accustomed to navigating inland rivers as well as oceans very early on. Since Earth had a giant supercontinent connecting most of it, Humaniyye was able to discover nearly the entire contiguous landmass and project power over all locations by the use of their navy, and as such, colonized the coastlines of the entire world by the point 6,000PD.

Since the coastlines were the place easiest to sustain life by being near oceans and rivers, Humaniyye naturally spread in a circular pattern around the contintent, but eventually spread inward.

We are here to talk about the Diadochi, or successor states to Kozzy Maganthe. These two successor states rose when a natural disaster affected the middle of the continent, shattering almost 98% of the middle sector of the continent with a hammer of water.

Zongfei, of the west, and the Ji Fang Viceroyalty, Imperial Bearer of Espere, of the East, were the sovereigns of all of Earth's land. They were the two, in Humaniyye fashion, ruled in a way that ensured stable empire. After all, Kozzy Maganthe didn't simply exist because of luck, but because of how Humaniyye and Kozzy Maganthe, the nation, developed together.
