Little by little it's getting better, one step in front of the other at a time ;).
If you want things to change start with yourself. Each user can contribute in their own way, only if we work together we could help to achieve a better outcome.
ok i'm gonna use an analogy here. the town opens up a brand new baseball field for anyone to use. its just the basics, a cage, the dirt, some bases. people come to play some pick up games. a few things are added over time, some lights, baselines, equipment you can borrow. some people come play after school and on the weekend some people have formed their own little competition.
now parks and rec gets defunded (sic) and the town doesn't want to bother with the upkeep of the field anymore. the grass grows too high, no one repaints the baselines, the bases are ripped, and someone said they saw scorpions near third. you're still gonna have the some of same dedicated people coming back and playing every weekend because they like the game and have made friends here. for some people it's all they really have. but a field in such a state of disarray will never attract new people and it will drive away the people who used to come because they think it's disgusting.
this isn't what this thread is about and you already know i love you baabaa!!
similar questions. there are some owners i didn't like because i think they overstepped. really the position is pretty darn useless all you really do is manage sandbox reports, which are largely nothing. i'm not upset that i was never owner because i feel like i would need more control to actually change the site for the better. i think that people who tried to get owner through subversive means or who begged for it are silly because what are you gonna do with it? sandbox movie night isn't going to make the lobby better seriously. i also think its really stupid to blame dooze for anything that's wrong with the site, you know damn well that there's a hundred more problems before we get to "inactive sandbox owner."
well i joined cause i met a friend who was really into this place but i didn't start playing seriously until i found the 4ch*n threads about it. so yeah that's probably answered the next question.
i like being a role with a gun like sheriff (particularly in sandbox) because it really gives you a feeling of control and when you shoot the right guy you feel accomplished like yeah i did that all by myself say thank you
not like valve was doing anything good with them recently i think i'd rather see a l4d3 before half life or portal or anything.
i didn't mean this to be a personal question thread but you know whatever i just feel like talking
so for best role i'm going to be kinda boring and say cop. take for instance a purely vanilla mafia setup with only regular villagers and mafia. this game demands only your intuition to win. now you add a cop to that game and suddenly the entire way to play the game changes. you have claims, reports, counterclaims. the neat thing about mafia is that each role makes you think about the game in a new way and the original simple roles like cop do that the best. the alternative to this is the fool, which also makes everyone think twice about who they might be suspecting.
the easy picks for worst role are stuff like trickster which is a random mess or stuff like surgeon that's overpowered. another answer would be something like fiddler. it's a balance role, but a very not fun role because you're basically saying that someone doesn't get to play the game for a day and (ideally) everyone wants to participate if they can. a third way to look at it would be Cthulhu, which is a role entirely dependent on other roles which is something that imo should be avoided
