Can someone recommend me one, ONE (1) anime that is normal. An actual plot, no fillers or fillers that ACTUALLY contribute to the characterization of the main characters (not some random village lady who we'll never see again because she'll be probably dead by the 500th or so episode (the "finale"... until Anime P comes next year! The P stands for Poo by the way) when the protag finally remembers all the people he met in his journey... I don't even have anything against dyed hair in real life or in western animation but you know an anime with that is gonna be trash so none of that either please... Perhaps most importantly, no "waaaaah^^ trips aaahhaahhhahhhahhh moans some more" girls with jiggly bewbs!
Consider this a challenge to turn perhaps one of anime's biggest but most open minded/willing to be swayed enemies to your side.
P.S. If you suggest something where explaining something that JUST happened needs a vocal confirmation by one of the characters (like in Monster) or where characters have traits that exist for 1 episode only... you have failed!
There are other shows that at 24 episodes or less are short and sweet but are not as intense, rapidly paced, or focused on plot (but are still very driving and very good).
Penguin Drum (Weird epic involving three siblings and the Penguin Queen) Nichijou (Sketch comedy with some arcs but minimal plot) Baccano! (Non-linear story that comes together at the end) Mob Psycho 100 (Nice, fluid, offbeat animation lots of fighting) Death Note (most non-weebs love death note and I do too) Toradora (twisty romcom. first 13 episodes much better than the other 13 imo)
All of these are "family friendly" except Penguin Drum and maybe Toradora. If you are looking for a 500 episode epic then I can't help you and I'm pretty much out of series as it is. (Stein;s Gate? Arakawa Under the Bridge? Tatami Galaxy?)
Puella Madoka Magica does an amazing job. It has a small cast with each of the six major protagonists undergoing character changes throughout the 13 episode series. There is zero fanservice and the show keeps twisting and turning as it gradually descends into darkness.
If that show doesn't fit what you asked for then I'm not sure what else will tbh.
samurai champloo has 0 filter and iirc 0 characters with unnatural hair colors that are supposed to be their natural hair colors. fight scenes are a little unrealistic but like most western action movies feature unrealistic fight scenes anyway so doesn’t matter. the plot is decent and the characterization is good too
um im a little bit gay but i suggest tsuritama, kaiba, and kino no tabi. the last two are kind of surreal and arent rly for everyone but tsuritama is my #1 fave ever its abouy gays who fish. thanks for coming to my ted talk
If you want to see something slightly interesting (altho I always would recommend the manga over the anime) and pretend its not anime check out Ajin. its on netflix i believe.
anime or manga? Cause best manga (but trashy anime) is kingdom, hands down. Best Manwha is the breaker, slow on arch three tho.. probably died.
anime sucks cause weebs exist, therefor big titted underage highschool girls are all the rage in the western society. couldn't be able to tell you which anime to watch nowadays, everything goes down the drain at the end it seems.
